ADVANCE WARNING: The next release now has so many underlying database changes that existing games will need to be deleted. Yes, sorry everyone, and especially League players. I will give you a couple of days warning prior to the release, so that existing games can be rapidly finished off. I'm sure that you'll find the new features and bug fixes worth the hassle (well, I hope that you do anyway). But worry not overmuch dear Leaguers, the new release is at least 2 weeks distant still. It's going to be a big one... plenty of new bugs for the testers to sniff out I'm sure

Did it never take off then? I assumed that league players were sending each other private mails to organise matches...

Wouldn't you be able to see the games as 'All active games' if there were any?

Yes, but I don't keep track of who's playing who. So unless the title included the word "League", I wouldn't know.
But I take it from what you are all saying that this bird never flew...

It was always better to wait until you went public anyway, so that (a) more people could take part and (b) it could be played in a stable environment, leaving the test area open to any necessary changes with the minimum of notice, no matter how destructive.
Personally, I'd be more in favour of a ranking system anyway (as in tennis or cricket), rather than a football style league. I think it would work better and be less dependent on people making long term commitments.
