Shouldn't a character do one seek at the current location without moving or night. That's all. Maybe he can move out and in again and then reseek.... I don't think so - for example when you're nearing exhaustion and running away (god, don't I sound like the queen of players!) sometimes you need to seek and seek until you get shelter, but you don't have the strength to move out then back.

It depends how that you implement in SQL. How will server remember did he try one time...? will that prevent player still using multibrowsing? Seek button will be active in other opened windows anyway! LastSeekLocation is written to character record after seek. But it is also read before seek. When equal, don't allow seek. Clear it at night or after a successful move. It costs a read and write per seek, but I don't think this is an issue. And it solves multibrowse.

Yes, i agree with Marie. The character can seek more times for shelter in keeps and citadels. Why would we limit him to seek only once at other objects? That has no sense when you think about it in real world anyway. If character has in his record Lastseekposition i suppose he has his remaining time in this record also. Add to script one query that check character's record about his remaining time when this character performs seek action. If remainingtime=night display a massage "Aaaah, you are that cheater we were all the time looking for!" ;D And of course not allow him to perform any further action..

Two weeks, twice a day, that 28 Midnight days? Don't you think you slightly underestimate your opponents? One of mine lasted almost 70 turns, I think. It wasn't one on one, though.

And I had my own rounds with Matija and Mads consuming up to 50 turns, I think...

Been siting with an open unused 4 player game for ages, is Rogue6 still playing or can this game be deleted.... Got beaten in my other game, but itching for a rematch, finally got a map together Someone else started a game which I'm now playing in, when does the tornament start? Is there time for a few more games before it does? don't think I can go more than a week without having a game going!

Been siting with an open unused 4 player game for ages, is Rogue6 still playing or can this game be deleted.... You can ask J-Y to delete it. It's customary to try and PM any player who is MIA before doing so, to see if they want to continue, but if you get no response it's safe to assume the game is abandoned. Well, there are always those of us who won't be taking part. Feel free to send out an invitation of you want a game.

What happens if you just resign? On a two player game I presume that abandons it.

Currently, if you resign it's as though you were killed, so the enemy wins.
This is staying but for the next release I've implmented an Abandon button that will kill off a game when ALL players agree.
I am also thinking of adding a Continue button that will appear for games where activity has not occured for x number of days , so that any other player can then force the game forward past the currently stalled player. Not sure whether battles should still occur or simply switch the ID of the current player. Thoughts welcome - but in a new thread please!

What happens if you just resign? On a two player game I presume that abandons it. You record a loss. In a two player game your opponent is declared the victor. The only current ways to abandon a game are by mutual consent (after which J-Y will delete the game), or through lack of participation, which means J-Y periodically removes permanently stalled games if one or more of the players involved are clearly no longer doing any active testing. I understand J-Y is implementing an automated system to allow players to agree on abandonment within a game, but you will still have a problem with stalled games where a player has gone AWOL, so those wil still need manual removal unless a cut-off system is introduced on the server to say that a game that's been stalled for more than X days and has players that have not been active for more than Y days will automatically be deleted. (You need the second condition to stop actiive players from avoiding defeat by not playing their turns in certain games while continuing in the games they are winning). I have no idea how any of these issues are meant to be treated in the league, but I believe the rather optimistic idea is that everyone will fulfill every fixture and that no one will drop out, fall ill, or otherwise become unavailable or demotivated. I would put the chances of that happening at over 1000-1.
