We all know what cheat methods were earlier and were removed..still multibrowsing remains but no cure for this..JY have said so.. ;D I agree with Premis in that every move should be tested for validity. The big question is where the player's current state is stored... I would assume the DB is out until MySQL does stored procs, unless you can port to PostGreSQL. Storing in the session is risky as a player could potentially log on using another computer and cheat using a different session. At the application level would be better. Or on disk could work and would be almost as quick as using the DB. XML? Two other suggestions: Minimise what is passed by the browser.to simple requests based on what current state the server has. Passing less information would minimise the avenues of attack for cheaters. Use a log file to hold player requests between saves to the database. Should the player exit or close their browser, this file along with the DB could be used to restore the players most recent correct state.

Hell no, the Targ has teeth! He's about to bite my bottom (not literally of course), in at least one game.
I imagine that once Stevie knows where the lords are, his success rate will rise considerably

Getting confused - there are too many conversations going on at once! Where did all that business about cups of dreams come from!?! (Ringy...) Anyway - can I get this straight - in the league, you have to play two games against each other member of the league? Good god - if I join, there's a significant chance half of us might be dead of old age by the time we're done (I am, I'd say, the slowest player in Midnight by a fair old whack) So I think I'd better be out. Those of us not in the league should form a friendlies club so we know who we can challenge (leaguers who want to play multi games can join too.)

As the things currently stay 9 players ready for league..10 would be better..or 12. If league would finaly contains 8 players, 56 games altogether will be played.
8! / (8-2)! = 8*7*...*2*1 / 6*5*...*2*1 = 8*7 = 56.
If it would be 10 players...
10! / (10-2)! = 10*9*...*2*1 / 8*7*...*2*1 = 10*9 = 90.
If it would be 12 players...
12! / (12-2)! = 12*11*...*2*1 / 10*9*...*2*1 = 12*11 = 132.
