I agree. I think we did better that I would have expected given our meagre numbers. J-Y's list of casualties must certainly run into double figures - my guess is closer to 15 than 10 - and he probably has one or two leaderless armies sitting idle at this stage.
The result was inevitable though, the odds too great.

OK, I'll try to remember to list my lords before the final battle (they are all deleted except kings after a game is finished, to save db space). I don't think that I kept a journal early on in the game, but I certainly have since the alliance against the One True King began, so I'll publish that.
The ability to view journals will be available for all players as of the next release as it's one of the first changes that I made.

You might want to move N now whilst I'm resting. I promise to wait meekly and not fight back.
Think of the Gap as a pleasant green pasture, where you can stroll at your ease. Nothing nasty awaits you there...
Go on.

Actually, I know what you have at the Gap as the deceased King Mus kept me informed of what he could see. That's why I'm saying you certainly don't need to rest before finishing this. If you had any spies left you might know this already...

8 lords at shimmy, a couple without armies. I will move S soon, but before I do I'm just scouting around to make sure that you don't have anything hidden in thrall, Iserath, mitharg etc. Been down the overconfidence route once, not going there again

There is nothing else, unless you count the shades of Zerin, Shimeril and Brith. There never was anything else. The mus had another small army in Thrall, but that's no threat to you now anyway. All I have is at Shimeril.
Less than 6 armies against about 30 or more. What are you waiting for?

I am awaiting some new arrivals from my outlying provinces. I wouldn't want them to miss the party.
And I don't have 30 armies! Not even close. The Mus did some severe pruning of my imperial guard.

Heh! You did come out of your rock. Wasn't sure if I could entice you, but many thanks for obliging me

Heh! You did come out of your rock. Wasn't sure if I could entice you, but many thanks for obliging me Look, the 11 armies you had closest to Shimeril would have been enough to do for my men, not to mention those following up behind. So, since you kindly offered them on a plate, I thought I'd try and add to your casualty list, since I wouldn't be able to do that if I fought all your men in Shimeril. Though why you'd want your casualty list looking even worse than it did is beyond me. Considering the huge advantage you had over the two of us put together, you have been most wasteful.

I know, I know. But it's still nice to be able to bring the enemy out of his gates. Wasteful yes, but apart from the keep episode which isn't referred to in polite circles , my tactic has been that I can sacrifice troops as long as I knock out enemy lords, thus depriving the enemy of the ability to go and restock at Xaj/Gard wherever. I kept my dragon back for the assault on the keep of Blood, and that proved very useful indeed as he had some 11 enemy lords to have a go at in one round. Anyway, I'll try to be swift and humane... As much as I can be playing as a foul, anyway! ;D

Hell's bells! How did Cele-burger survive that onslaught! Impressive You must be down to the last few troops in there. Oh well, I suppose the other 3 armies can come to your help now Are you going to play cat and mouse?

Your 16 armies againt my four (including the garrison), and you only managed to kill off two lords without armies? Somehow in tune with the rest of this game, wouldn't you say? Actually the two lords took a fair number of victims with them (hundreds each), and you barely killed half of armies i did have. You really need to train those drunken louts of yours better. You will win next turn, but there ain't no glory in this one. Don't forget to list your casualties for us.

Yeah well, that's what you get when you hire mercenaries. I really shouldn't have relied on those dodgy Free boys when I could have kept my Doomguard for the last big push. You pays peanuts... No glory? beat a combined force equal to mine? Why ever not?
