Everyone may vote, and High ranks (Admin, ADmiral, Diplo) have last say... IMHO Yes, that might be better than open poll. Definitely, more than one for each category is absolutely possible. Yes there could be a category for "open to all" decorations, but these would not be campaign specific, but instead things like 10 colonies, 1000 killed spears etc etc. If there were to be kill specific ones, one would have to ask for themselves personally and post the required details into a specific thread for recording these. Colony capturing is bad category imho. Its allmost allways cooperation, and the colony itself is reward enough. This i mentioned allready above.

-Superscripted numbers mean that the specific award is based on campaign awards (see campaign decorations)marked with the same number Q. Wow. I'm overwhelmed! Do we get all those ribbons? How does it work?A. No. Basicly alliance ribbons are divided into two major categories. 1- One set marks rank and status, in other words what your place is in the alliance. These are the Rank and Status ribbons 2- The other set marks what you acheived from campaigns. These are the Awards and Special Awards Q. But why so many Ranks?A. Well beside the IK ranks of Administrator, Diplomat, Admiral and Member, Men-at-Arms and Military Engineer will help specify each member as being more of a fighter or a support. The aim is to help in future squadrons or fire teams organisations to determine who is more capable of sending attack fleets, and who will support with resourse, stonethrowers and catapults. Q. So how many ribbons will I have for Rank?A. If you have not specified which type of player you are destined or wish to be (fighter or supporter/supplier), then you'll only have one ribbon. If you are high rank (Administrator, Diplomat, or Admiral) and have a designated fighting status, then you'll get two ribbons. Members get only one ribbon, whether or not they have a designated fighting status. Q. How do I get alliance awards?A. Allaince awards basicly reflect what you have done in campaigns. Look at it this way: You are a solder who volunteers to do some operation in Mongolia, after which you get an award por being there. Then you volunteer for another operation in Easter Island, Bora-Bora, then South pole, all of which you get awards for good combat etc. When you return home (a hero ;D ) the president of your country aslo comemorates you on your oversees action and gives you the highest award of your country. Thats the whole idea behind alliance awards. Q. Can I have more than one type of alliance colour ribbon?A. Yes. Ribbons show others what you are, and what you were as well. Meaning, if a member was part of Morkin alliamce and then moved to FoM alliance, he will be allowed to keep all his Morkin member ribbons (except those that designate high rank), and earn a new FoM member ribbon

We can supress either A7-Islands or A8-Score riddos under the STATUS category for alliance decorations as both are actualy related ingame (your score depends on how many islands you have and how much they are built up).
Which one is preferable to keep? I'd like to determine the mark for each level afterwards.

I'd like again to bring up the ^2 formula. If it would apply to all types, it would be much easier to remember and to quickly calculate. (This beeing complex enough without varying custom levels for each type)
So, these would be 8, 16 and 32. And when someone would get 64, all others would downgrade one level, and so on.

hmmmmmmmmmm should we be doing like henning, with two rows of medium ribbons, or like myself, with 1 each? There are now 3 diferent styles Pattons Ringthane Shendemiar I did Pattons one, and I'm quite happy with it. The idea behind it is that the two first rows will have medium size ribbons (50x15 - you can fit 3 abreast), and the rest that will folow below will have small ribbons (30x9 - you can fit 5 abreast). I also think the whole lametta would look better in a pyramidic layout, when possible. (should I make some graphic examples to state my case?) I think Shendemiar's is too big, and you shouldnt seperate the ribbons (IMO). At least thats what I see in films...
