1. Realdeal appears to be the new Admin for Iliad, though they still lack somebody with in-game Admin authorities. He is quite displeased that DIGGers continue to retaliate in spite of them declaring "unconditional surrender". They have been informed that one of the terms being imposed is that the following players attacked DIGGers unprovoked, and will have reparations extracted until DIGG satisfaction: Imperial-rats Quazi RobKohr1 -Roo- Deank vassago plastictaxi Regret Mansuetus jdenver orksnork ged TheUgly realdeal aragon127 Nasdh TomTucker Aspen navz flash nkoseto
2. The plastictaxi account is now in DIGG possession. It was given as a "token of goodwill". Aesir/Gauge is currently in possession, and it will be going to a DIGGer who has suffered substantial losses in this series of wars, much in the way the jhoskins account was given to Sol.
3. Pain of H|F is suggesting a ceasefire in 72 hours so that Iliad members may defect to H|F on a case-by-case basis. Discussions continue.
4. l3x-x has again requested peace, and I informed him that Morkin-VALOR-Angel-DIGG are responsive to the notion, but that any binding peace agreement will be coming from Morkin (since you guys already seem to be on the ball with it).
5. Realdeal is reporting he has the Robkohr account, and marked it for deletion last night. It seems rather irrelevant, since it is down from 122 islands to under 40 in merely 4 days of DIGG operations.
6. DIGGers are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and operations on all fronts seem to be entering a "mop-up" phase. Personally, I am eager for the post-war consolidation and rebuilding - I've taken 8 mains and 2 feeders, with a couple more pending, that could use a few weeks of spears and LWS production. The story is much the same for a majority of DIGGers. There is also significant post-war reorganization to be done - a significant cut in DIGG membership is expected as "leeches" who made minimal war contributions have been identified. The current "cut list" is approximately 200 members long. DIGG foresee's a post-war membership level in the 300-400 range, with a corresponding score in the 3-4 million point range.

Does Digg have any plans about splitting into a group of several smaller related alliances? I somehow think that could reduce a lot of ill feelings of many players who currently are under the impression that they're dominated by just one single big monster alliance.

-Roo-, vassago, Regret and realdeal have Ocean 1 Isles. IF you can't figure out what to demand of them, make them give some of them to us ;D
Forced fleetsteal of some 500lws isles would be proper punishemt.

1. The "sisterhood alliances" is an ongoing discussion, and would probably be a regional divide. Obviously it is of a fairly large scope, so the deep cuts in membership are the more short-term viable solution.
2. Aspen is back. He's calling me a "liar" for taking his islands. Apparently, before he went AWOL for 40 hours (he's claiming internet cut out at home), I told him that I'd leave him alone overnight because it wouldn't be sporting to hit him while he sleeps. Can't say I feel too much shame in hitting him while he slept, since I went to the trouble of fleetsaving while I slept to avoid him doing the same thing to me.

After some pressure from H|F, DIGG was compelled to agree to the following Peace Terms last night:
"By near-unanimous vote, DIGG leadership has agree to the following Peace conditions between Iliad and DIGG.
1. All DIGG attacks cease. No new targets are acquired. 2. Attacks already in the water will obviously hit their targets. 3. Islands that have already been 50% "cleared" are allowed to be colonized. 4. Islands captured from DIGG are returned. 5. Aspen and Robkohr islands are exempt, and allowed to be reduced to 1 5-pt island (moot, since Aspen's are all already cleared, and Robkohr has been deleted, but important in principle). 6. Failure to adhere to these conditions equates a resumption in warfare.
Both alliances engaged in hard fighting, and both will walk away with increased experience that will prove valuable against future adversaries.
DIGG and Iliad will now work forward to ensure the conditions of the Peace are carried out in good faith.
Future disagreements will likewise be discussed in good faith, to avoid situations wherein players like Robkohr drop stoners to kill incoming colonyships on previously-agreed over-colonization returns, or wherein Aspen fabricated clearing reports to lay claim to an island. Incidents such as these lead to an unnecessary escalation in tensions, and will be avoided through honest relations of high character."
They have merely served to create legitimate animosity towards H|F - we would not have seen such favorable terms from Iliad, as they declared they would fight until DIGG was reduced to a pile of 5-pt islands, or DIGG disbanded.

1. Aspen and Robkohr are done. 5 and 14 islands left, respectively, all cleared and just awaiting successful colonization.
2. DIGG is following suit with Morkin's peace with E|S - wrapping up open operations on islands, and then entering a peace. VALOR-Angel have been informed, as well as other partners.
3. DIGG leadership (myself included) are turning towards post-war efforts. Agenda includes the culling of approximately 100-150 members who made little to no contributions to The Great War, determining framework for a split into 2-3 alliances (likely geographically based), issuing of medals (shamelessly plagerized from Morkin's system here), constructing a Constitution in efforts to revamp and revitalize the AMC, and consolidation of gains.
4. I will be seeing a reduced role in this game. Personal and professional life requires a reduction in gaming time for a few weeks, and my account requires a rebuilding of fleets (down from a peak of 3,000 lws across 35 isles to 1,600 lws across 50 isles).
As such, I would request that I have my access removed from this forum. I consider many of you good friends at this point, but it seems as though my duties as liaison are virtually completed, and I would not want to be percieved as a potential "spy", or a potential source for an account being hacked into, as Morkin likewise turns to post-war efforts.

The honour has been all mine. How many on this game can claim to have fought under the proud Morkin name? As long as I am an Admin at DIGG, they will not be allowed to forget who their true friends are in this game, and they will always answer any call for aid from their Morkin brothers - or any bizarre tag you blokes pursue

As long as I am an Admin at DIGG, they will not be allowed to forget who their true friends are in this game, and they will always answer any call for aid from their Morkin brothers - or any bizarre tag you blokes pursue It has been fun indeed, and in my opinion the very best thing is how we all came true and fought for each other, neither part using the other, and how our trust in each other has paid off. But the last thing with Aspen raises an interesting question. I think many players would like to get rid of DIGG some way, and this war has shown that it can't be done when Morkin and DIGG sticks together. Aspen had the idea of turning us against each other, and I think other will follow with the same reasoning: That Morkin is needed if DIGG has to be taken down (I'm not sure it's possible even then, but nevermind that.) The bottom line: I think some players will begin to drive a wedge between us, maybe as infiltrators and maybe making up stories. Perhas even by staging events that puts us on different sides. We will probably see through all of these schemes, but it's still something to be on the look-out for.

I'd like to say that its a pity we couldnt convince some of you to stay with us clausewitz. Along with the other members of the task force i spoke to i've formed a very high opinion of you all, In the past i think i badly under-estimated both the character and the strength of Digg players and management as well as your motives. I'm sure im not alone when i say i'd be happy to stand beside you guys in the future.
