I understand Shendemiar. Another war after Tyrants campaign is very stressful. Its been a hectic week. Coordinate and shift some supplies to ORC until its decided if its a war or not, should at least be done.

I can understand the concerns of those who don't want another war but mark my words, if we don't deal with the aggressive players in -S- sooner rather than later, they will dominate the game and Morkin might as well quit.
Look at the top 20, 17 players from -S-
Perhaps those who want to help Orc can temporarily join their alliance?

Robert, you completely have the right, without you, the strikes would have been a shambles. But I would like to support Orc - I can't militarily, I'm wiped and need to rebuild to help defend Morkin/FoM. But that doesn't mean I won't send as many poor stonies as I have left so that they continue to have some islands left. I do believe they deserve that at least.

I agree with Bait's last post, but still think we should hold off.
The war on tyrant was very frustrating - everyone's lack of cats meant that it took ages to wear isles down. I don't think we should start another engagement until all significant fleets have at least 23 cats, so that at least whole buildings can typically be taken out in one go. Also too few people had colony ships, since most of us are still at the stage where we can't just build one - resources have to be spent on other things.
If we want to smash -S- (and I think we should), let's do it when we have enough force to realy make it count. Even if they didn't fight back, how long would it take to make a significant dent in -S-'s score now? Weeks! However, when we can actually smash/steal (say) 10 isles in one day, it will be much more satisfying, even if that only takes out one -S- player.

How about a compromise?
We continue negotiating with -S- and part of that negotiation is that they stop attacking Orc (who must also agree to stop attacking -S-) We can then get the week or two we need to build cats etc.
We could also setup the anti -S- alliance ready to go after them again when they attack another alliance we are on friendly terms with.

Yes. Thanks for sending that message, David. Otherwise they spy back, we spy again, they send a small attack, and before you know Th0r's stolen your main. That's what seems to have happened with Orc.
Read the current state on the -S- Negotiation thread....

Reading through this, waiting does seem best to me. At least at the moment. For a number of reasons! 1) Like someone said.. (SkulkrinBait?) we dont have enough catapults to knock down an isle effectively now. When we all start getting some 23 catapult fleets, "scorched earth" can take place much better. 2) Attacking now would seem have to be based on very loose morals. Or probably none at all. This doesnt seem the kind of reputation that Morkin enjoyed in the past! We should not change it. 3) Eventually, somewhere, someone in Morkin will slip up and spy one of us. If we react quickly and effectively, not only will we manage to destroy one of their members, we would keep a very large... "fear factor" At least... Thats what I think at the moment.

That's exactly what happened in the Th0r case, I think. A little spying backwards and forwards, and suddenly an isle has gone. By the time everything is coordinated for the response nobody knows how it happened and who attacked first.

Im back.
First of all, there is not dispute between me and skulkrinbait at all. We both hold eachother in very high regards:
I wrote to him:
Secondly, from a strategic point of view, im all for this operation. It would be the wisest thing to do. These people hate us and will cause us great deal of problems in the future. But is our suspicion of things to come really enough reason to attackt them? I dont know. My prioirity is to have Morkin alive cos i like all of you so much.
Yes, hesitation is weakness, and the oportunity is NOW and not next week. We however do not have the idea how would the 85% of -S- "Not wanting war with Morkin" react if we took yet another war against them. If they would stand back it would be fine, if they would not, it would be a difficult position.
And yes, i love the orcs. They must be defended. If you read carefully, youll notice im the one who suggested supporting them by any means that we remain invisible.
Digg is supporting ORC any way they can, including military interventions. By anything ive said, I mean not to outruling military intervention, just postponing it untill we have a plann and readiness for it.

The one problem I have with Orc is that they are not interested in cease fire. If they need support, then they should stop attacking themselves. How can we justify a peaceful stance when Orc won't stop attacking?
That's from a diplomatic point of view...
