Ringthane-king, Valista ia okay. I had been playing with my details previously, having selected Giant race to play against Dai. In fact when I issued the invitation, I was a Giant. But then I reverted to my normal, gallant self, and, lo and gape wide, me horses went AWOL...

Aha - good find there ur-lord.
If you were playing giant before, your army would have been created as warrior-only. Changing race to one that can ride needs to update the army to change its constituent parts.
