I remind the competitors to slowly finish their current games and not to open or accept new games.. This is why I'm still considering whether to accept the invitation or not. Well, it one of the reasons anyway. Certainly if I was to take part it would not be on an exclusive basis under any circumstances. This would harm those people who do not have the time to take part by excluding them completely, not to mention that 3 or 4 player games would disappear, and the prospect of playing nothing but two player games for the months it would take to finish the league is appalling. There are other considerations, like rules and contingencies. The "what happens if..." scenario. What rules and options are the games to be played under? How will the testing of new (and possibly buggy) versions be dealt with? What if players become ill or unavaliable through no fault of their own? How do you keep players motivated to play meaningless games as a priority after it becomes clear that they can't win the league? When I was at school (a long time ago ) I organised a chess championship on similar grounds. Many of us played, so it seemed a sensible thing to do. After a few weeks it became clear that the "title"-race was limited to a contest between two runaway leaders, and almost everyone else lost interest to the point that they could not be bothered fulfilling their fixtures. Needless to say, the contest was never finished. There is a lesson to be learned there about motivation. I am yet to decide whether this is a good idea or a flawed one that just looks good on the surface. Sorry to sound a discordant note. Either way, thank you for the invitation.

I was thinking about replying exactly like Bill just did, but I prefer to join and play the other games as well, sorry but I hadn't noticed the detail, and anyway I think it's doable

Ha..a few good points here..
I count on players which majority is app. 30-aged people..they are not kids to give up when they see that can't be the first. It would be good to see where you really are and improve your abilities learning from better players. "Friendly" games are ok but they are for fun and never drag out the maximum of the player.. That will change when competition begins. Don't worry, after this i will make one knock-out competition with initial 16 players i hope.. NBA play off rules or similar I will ask JY not to update or at least not to make big changes during competition time..
Will you give up when you see you can't be first or in a top of list or will you play all games? If not, join us! Remember, this is opportunity to play serious with every member and meet him really!

I'm afraid that's it's unrealistic to stop releasing updates/fixes during the league period. At the moment there is only 1 item that is changing that *may* affect existing games (not alliances since 2 player games cannot have alliances!). Remember that this is a test site so the primary focus needs to remain on getting MU to "production" quality. If we can fit the league into that then all the better.

I'm with J-Y on this. Let's remember what we are here for. Mislav, I think you're losing sight of this in the excitement. Take a look at the polls section: no one seems to favour 2-player games, yet you are asking that people commit to playing a whole mass of two-player games at the expense of everything else. Is this good for M/MU? Is it good for people's enjoyment in playing it (which is surely the second most important reason we are here)?
The more I look at it the less inclined I am to take part. It doesn't have anything to do with being serious, because I play every game with the intention of winning it, so playing in a competition makes no difference at all. I hate losing, so that is enough motivation for me. I just don't think that putting everything else aside for the sole purpose of establishing who is better than who is particularly productive at this stage of testing.
Anyway, with the exception of my decision when I make it, this is my last word on the subject.

Since Mads succeeded in killing 1300 men with one dragon, I have been itching to get my hands on the seven special force dudes. But the best I got so far was two wise and two dragons (red and green) in the same game.

Can't remember if I've ever had Rorthron and Lorgrim at the same time, but I have had all three dwarves and I'm in one game where I stand a reasonable chance of recruiting all four dragons. Has anyone ever recruited all the Targ?

I have played 3 or 4 more than 2-players game and non of them ever finished! Two of them in the initial phase of Beta-testing and JY did new version before we finished this 2 games..and now current 2 games are not yet finished and players play rare and rare..almost a weak to one player turn..

I'm in. Just as soon as I figure out how to get into the actual game.
