I had a Wise One search a lith, looking for a Cup of Dawn. No luck, but he found a Thorn of Despair instead :/
Fun thing: the Geezer is still UC, which leads me to believe that Geezers must have their courage hardcoded. Shouldn't they have the chance to become less than Utterly Couragous?

You're correct - wise (and indeed Dragons) have their courage hardcoded to UC. I wanted to reflect the nature of their "races" and make them units that people seek out urgently.
I recently changed skulkrin so that they could get to somewhat courageous, or unsure (I forget which), so that they can a) recruit, and b) have some chance of survival when attacked.
I'm not massively emotional about dragon/wise courage, so would change it if people felt strongly about it.
Thoughts?

What is the affect of high/low courage for a wise?
Having full on is good at the beginning, but if there is a penalty for a wise to lose courage then it becomes a game play issue. It means that seeking for the cup becomes more troublesome, and worse case you have to go seeking for some courage, which will delay your recruitment etc.
