Phase 2 Planning

Since there's a bit of confusion about...

Phase 2, List 1 (P2L1) attacks are to land at 15:00 GMT tomorrow. The gap between Phase 1 and 2 is to let DIGG start stony-dropping Dejecting, JRo and Sakian. Who we will then promptly ignore for the rest of the war

Phase 2 is a pseudo-random campaign. Every 6 hours, we smash and burn to the ground 5 islands. Some from large active players, some from the DIGG peasantry. Ideally, 3 or 4 players should combine on each isle. The demoralisation effects of combined strikes from multiple players are much greater than an isle being demolished by one monster fleet.

So, in any 6 hour period, about 20 of us will have a fleet heading to a target, about 20 of us have fleets coming back from the last raid, and the rest are getting ready for their next strike. We just keep cycling fleets and hitting new lists every 6 hours. We can keep it up for weeks if need be.

Nobody in DIGG will know where we are coming next, the peons will be terrified and screaming for help, and DIGGs stoner reserves (at least, the ones that aren't sitting pointlessly on Dejecting, JRo and Sakian isles hehe) will be useless due to the random nature of the campaign. Hit the isle, do what damage you can, and move on.

Due to the very nature of the campaign, the particular isles to be bombed really don't matter. Some kind soul could volunteer to do the random selection for the rest of us. Lists should be published 24 hours in advance so people within range can get themselves organised into a strike team. I'd suggest not taking on a target that is more than 12-14 hours away if possible. We have the 15:00 list:

so now we need the 21:00 list.

I'd suggest 2 isles from the DIGG top 25 players, then 3 totally at random but always including at least one minor insignificant peasant. That's just a suggestion though. Leave a gap of a 2 lists before hitting the same player twice.

Phase 2 will last about 3-4 days, and then it's time for Phase 3 - Switch²

The landing times for Lists 2, 3 and 4 then would be:

15th Nov 21:00

16th Nov 03:00

16th Nov 09:00

Do Sol's lists contain sufficient numbers of peons though? Random burnings of peasant villages is a crucial component of the entire strategy. Of the 20 isles burned on the first day of Phase 2, about 8 should belong to peons.

Once Phase 2 is underway, if you see a not-on-the-list DIGG isle nearby with few defences that you can raze at little cost then by all means do so. Any speculative attacks like that should preferably be timed so your attacks land at the same time as the official list attacks on other isles. Do not throw away ships on vanity attacks or personal grudges at this stage of the war. Do not get bogged down in expensive island-takeover struggles. Do not lose the head and lash out if a DIGG player attacks one of your isles. Stick to the plan, stay on target. We won all our wars on co.uk against bigger opponents because we stayed disciplined, and co-ordinated strikes together - it scares the bejaysus out of the enemy alliance.

Also, the isles I picked were just random. Most of them are from 3k point players. So I thought they were alright.

I'm not too happy about these Phases. They are good in the beginning, and for some specific operations against certain targets (with long time to prepare), but otherwise they'll just add unnecessary hassle. We will go forward with the current ones but i don't want to see any more phases in these quantities.

The more i think of these Phase/Launch stuff the more i dislike them. its not like people are able to prepare for more than one phase at a time, nor cope with the desired ETA's or or multiple waves or these new Markings standards.

We can make people to work scorching isles, but the system needs to be flexible and easy.

We will make 1 target, and 1 upcoming target for each sub-board and when its done, move to the next target and add one new.

Okay.. for those that saw the "phased" system: I have altered the format of these targets. Mainly giving up the "phase" structure. The targets remain, and they are decimated one or more at a time, while other targets wait for their turn. It will make it lot easier for people to follow, and they can coordinate their fleets by themselves.

Admins responsibility is to update more targets to each group of oceans, and the people need to decimate at least one isle per day in each group.
