Would it be possible to make a script that recognises {1:2:3} format on ik.com and then substitute the text for a URL link to the spy database?

I don't see why not, surely you'd be able to make it bob?
I 'think' the main problem would be replacing the URL already existing on each co-ordinate partially. For example in an isle list when you have say "Isle name (##:##:##)" and it all links to the same place. What you'd want to do is leave the "Isle name" linking to;
http://213.203.194.123/us/1/index.php?s=sessionidkey&p=map&sub=isle&pos1=##&pos2=##&pos3=## but make the actual "(##:##:##)" link to the spy database (other pages are accessable from there);
http://www.ogreview.org/spyingdatabase/show.php?Target##:###:## You'd probably also need to factor in the different length of isle co-ords; min=(#:#:#), max=(##:###:##). This wouldn't be an issue with the spy database since you can just fill in the unused digit places with 0's (at the front of each # string); ie. make (1:5:15) become (01:005:15).
Thats of course presuming you can do all that with your fancy programming languages. The other issue is the 'morality' of breaking the 'changing the surface' of the game rule, technically though the surface wouldn't change only what was underneath it (ie where it links to).
Added; you'd probably want to make this page an exception;http://213.203.194.123/us/1/index.php?s=sessionidkey&p=isles

Ask Clausewitz, they use various Greasemonkey scripts, isn't that right Claus?

Unfortunately I can't do it for the simple fact that me and Javascript vowed never to get along. I don't have the coding skills to be able to do it.
The whole changing the surface of the game is a bit dodgy however, since a Greasemonkey script is run locally and doesn't effect any of the IK servers I fail to see how it could be caught.

I can't script worth jack Added; I could probably name 4 programming languages off the top of my head but I don't know any differences between them. MySQL, C++, Javascript and Lua. Are they even used for the same things?

Of course I have! I religiously keep upto date with development blog! Can't wait for them to announce a release date though (let alone actually waiting for that date to come).
