Short version:
half-live-fans.de/kbmaker.php
Long version:
Make sure you don't get surprised by a total loss of your fleet...
If it's not a 1-point-isle, spy first, then use the IK calculator. Enter your intended attack forces as well as all opponent forces including weapon research and stone wall.
The calculator tells you the probability to win or lose. But what does the loser lose - and what does the winner win?
1. You lose
If you lose, you lose everything. Always keep in mind that you can always lose everything if the Inselkampf calculator doesn't show exactly 100%.
2. You win
a) If you got a win probability below 50% and win anyway, you lose 95% of every unit type (rounded to whole units).
b) If you win with a probability above 50%, the following formula gives your losses:
losses = sqrt ( 2 * ( 1 - probability) )
It's always a percentage of each unit type. If the product of percentage x units is below 1/2, you don't lose a unit of this type.
You can calculate losses with this fine, sometimes pop-up contaminated tool: half-live-fans.de/kbmaker.php
(It's a German site - but the order of units is the same as in the Inselkampf calculater, so one can easily find out which is which.)
- Advanced considerations -
Note that loss is always a percentage of units!! -> So, if you already got 100% probability, taking more units with you can result in higher losses.
For the same reason, it can be useful to take more different unit types with you. If you put 14 Spearfighters on 7 Small Warships and attack against a Stone Wall of 1, you will lose 1 Spearfighter. If you fill the same 7 ships with 8 Spearfighters and 6 Stone Throwers (for again a total of 14 units), you won't lose a unit, because the percentage of loss results in less than one unit of each type.
