Questionaire :

1. Why do you want to join us?
I would like to join because FoM was recommended to me as peaceful & considerate alliance.
2. If applicable why do you want to leave your current alliance?
I am thinking of leaving Empire as a result of the continued war with orc and as Empire seem to be falling apart.
3. What is your IK history; List of Wars, Friends and Enemies.
My IK history is that I started playing, I think it was late December. I have been in the DIGG war where I lost 2 of the 3 islands that I had at the time. My son then gave his IK account to me and I gave mine to another including my original name, Grayshus. I now play under the name of GraySea and still have the 11 islands that he gave me. There was a brief skirmish where I took one of trouble's islands in O42. Blah of H|F eventually took the island back on behalf of trouble. My friends are all from Empire and the only 'enemy' I have does not even know that 'she' has me for an enemy.
4. How would you describe yourself as a player, What are your traits, both good and bad?
I am an active player. I keep my mouth shut about important issues but can waffle about all sorts of stuff. Both a good and a bad thing is that I will support others with resources over an extended period of time. Another bad could be that I am very attached to my islands. A good point is that as a result of the skirmish with trouble I have learned the importance of timing attacks with precision. Bad point is that I get totally freaked out when under attack and then I calm down and deal with it.
5. How much experience do you have of playing Inselkampf?
I have been paying solidly for 5 months now and still have my son as my advisor.
6. How would you briefly describe yourself as a person: Age, Gender, Native Language, Hobbies, Education, Lifesituation and so on.
Age = >40, Gender = female, Native Language = English, Hobbies = reading. I am a qualified Nursery School teacher, Theatrical & TV technician (stagemanager & wardrobe department.) Been married to the same man for 28 years and have the almost 18 year old son, I have spoken about. Am taking singing lessons at present and train underprivileged children kayaking on Saturday afternoons. Do not kayak myself as my butt is toooo big!
Thought I should also mention that I live in Sunny South Africa at GMT+2 and winter is approaching.
7. Describe your current technical situation in the game.
Isles = 41:80:22, 41:80:18, 41:90:2, 41:80:17, 41:90:3, 41:80:21, 42:71:11, 41:71:24, 51:40:6, 51:40:11 & 51:40:12
Fleets = LWS=956, SWS=324, SMS=775 (3 colo fleets on their way to O33)
Garrisons = Stone Throwers=4054, Spearfighters=7792, Archers=1434, Cats=8,
Oceans I am in = O41, O42, O51 & hoping O33
8. What were your best and worst moments in the world of Inselkampf?
Best moments are making friends with other players and getting that new island.
Worst moment is when you see that red strip where the green once was and then the constant fleet on the horizon. Another bad moment is losing a fleet in a badly planned attack and losing an island.
9. What is you opinion of multis and scripters?
Should not be allowed. Don't know much about that but it is not something I do as I have no knowledge how to. Looking after someone's account while they are away for any length of time is not what I consider being a multi.
10. Regarding pacts and peace treaties, what do you understand by those terms?
These are to be taken seriously. Not to be taken lightly and I suppose this is why I am having an internal battle about needing to leave Empire to protect my islands as the leadership are tired and really don't care much any more.
11. Are you aware that Morkin, and therefore FoM, are rather peaceful alliances not actively seeking domination or war.
Yes, I am aware of this.
12. Please note anything which you feel might support your application to FoM.
Only one thing is that I have a good relationship with haf_baked.
13. Finally (thank god I hear you cry), are you currently in any wars/squabbles with other players? What combat have you been involved in on this server?
There is no current squabble with any other player at present and I have been involved in the DIGG war and am now involved in the war with the orcs as my present alliance is involved.

Empires odds of winning this fight are diminishing quickly.
She has several islands in an ocean that we are not well represented in. Is this to our adantantage or disadvantage?

while she is a little under strength for the number of isles, its only to be expected if she is involved in the war against orc.
I'd say yes.

I say no. One thing I don't get is why she has an enemy that doesn't even know she is an enemy. Also she keeps her mouth shut on important issues, I'm not sure this is a characteristic that would be welcome in FoM after all we are democratic to a point.

I vote yes. She's a good friend from Empire, and despite any negatives that you may be able to point out from her application, one thing I know first hand is that she is an honest and very trustworthy player. Thats something I'd prefer in an alliance over any amount of strength, isle count, or anything else really.

She's very active, friendly, and can be counted on when needed. Strong yes from me.

Edit: Also, regarding the "mouth shut" comment, I believe it was meant as, she keeps alliance secrets secret, even though she is talkative and friendly with people, not that she wouldn't participate in important discussions.

As we are in the midst of creating a base in O33/34 she isn't going to be that far away from where we are in 41, also we haev reasonable presence in 42 which is closer again.

I would say yes, but she must speak up when it comes to important issues even if she disagrees, perhaps that could be put back to her to answer as if she wants to sit in the background that isn't what the Trium is about, but if she is willing to share her opinion even if it goes against the rest of us then I don't have a problem.

The strength comes down to either fighting Orc or supporting her own Alliance which is what we would expect from all out members

Another 40 plus female (allegedly) could be an asset as there aren't many of them playing IK and I think having a varied array of people in the alliance is a good thing.

But seriously, nearly all applications are members who are or used to be in another alliance. They have created bonds and contacts there that could be of use to us. But it could also render them useless in conflict against their former alliance if a war ever broke out.

What is everyone's feel about having new people coming into this forum, having instant access to all our information when we wont be sure if they'll turn on us.

I'm wondering if we shouldn't add a question in the application about what their stance is if ever a war broke out between us and their former alliance. Can we count on them to be loyal?

the problem with that question is if they want to join us for whatever reason(prestige, Status, spying etc.. ;D) they will say yes they will be loyal

I'd be quite dissapointed if anyone who we were thinking of letting into our alliance said they'd be happy to attack their former alliance once they've joined us. in fact i'd vote against them because they obviously haven't made any friends at all.
