Me too. I don't see much point in large merchants—journeys take long enough as it is. It's good to have few small warships for scouting, but their speed doesn't offer much advantage in battle, since they can't carry catapults or many troops.

application (part 1)
Here is the application

1. I'd like to join FoM because it seems to be a strong and very active alliance. I think activity inside an alliance is the key to succes in wars etc. I also like to join the alliance is because my two best IK friends are in here.
2. Phoenix has grown a bit too inactive, and I don't really like that (see above). This is why we are dropping positions in the alliance ranking. And there is no participation in wars at all... We don't get missions to go get an isle or so.
3. This is the first version of Inselkampf I ever played, but when I started I got some help from Cesium and Blazed. Especially Cesium was a great help (he played the .co.uk version too). I know both Blazed and Cesium from other on-line games.
4. I'm loyal and willing to obey. I have difficulties finding decent farms and sending troops out there. But maybe that's because I'm in a silly ocean...
5. Aint this almost the same question as 3? I started playing in October - November. I sign in almost every day, so activity is no problem to me. In the beginning I had problems with the game, but now I consider myself as a semi-pro.

6. Ok, I'll tell all you want to know
I'm sixteen (I'll be 17 in July), male and I live in Belgium. My native languages are Dutch, French, a little German, tiny bit of Spanish, but very fluent in English. In my spare time I play bass guitar and clarinet. Also online pc games are something I like to do.
I'm in the 11th grade studying Latin-Maths. I have school untill 4:00 pm (GMT +1), then doing homework. This means I have time to be online from 7:00 pm til 10:00pm)

8.Best moment: being in an alliance like Haven (the one Cesium made) and being with friends like Cesium and Blazed
Worst moment: breaking up Haven because of tyrant
9.I think multi's and scripters are cheater and that they are to be treated like that by plundering them.
10.Peace treaties and pacts are to be respected. I will never make the first move in an attack on an alliance that has a peace treaty/pact with us. If they are inactive, they are to be plundered...
11.I know FoM and Morkin don't want domination, but they are – I heard this from blazed – an alliance that's very active in wars (War on Tyrant e.g.)
12.I would like to be a help in tracking down and destroying multis and cheaters. I am active, willing to fight and to obey.
13.Currently, I'm not in a war and I have never been.

I vote no too. If he actually wanted to be part of the alliance he would have at least waited to see whether his first application was successful, rather than joining Phoenix.

I vote yes. I've know Driez (online) for a while now, and he's a cool guy. As long as blazed and I are in the alliance, he'll be loyal. He's pretty willing to help out friends and such, and he's persistent. He's also working on getting a couple good farms. (they're impossible to find where we are) He speaks good English, so he's not a problem in that area. He's active, and dedicated, and I think he'd be a good addition to our alliance. You all shouldn't read too much into the fact that he left phoenix after a month and a half. He's as loyal as you could want.

I agree, let's give him a chance. We could always fire another couple of questions back at him querying his loyalty or saying we're worried he might get bored and leave, it's not all fun and games in FoM 24/7 in case you hadn't noticed.

I like this idea as well. Maybe we could allow him to list our protection in his profile while he is waiting.

OK, final question:

It was a bit of a pitty to see that it would take a little while before I could get in FoM. I needed some protection, because back in those days, I was in [Haven]. As you probably know, we were attacked by Tyrant and his minions. That's why I joined Phoenix, because there was no waiting time. I got in Phoenix for having the protection of a strong alliance.

(continue:) FoM is also a strong alliance, and because my friends were going there (cesium and blazed) I thought of going there too.

I'l let him in later tonight unless anyone has any major disagreement with that, we can always give him provisional membership if you think that best.
