Innuendos aside, can you not create yourself a new set of permissions called the same as what you are now but with extra access? That way you appear to be normal but with extra permissions.
Also everything you do will be logged somewhere and it only takes a diligent member to notice you using a back door then shaft you (pun intended).

I wouldn't encourage you to do it. To me it seems like there isn't any DIGG related info we should be spying for.
If we someday get in confrontation with them, and the option is still available, then its a different story.

Stick an extra full-stop at the end of the permissions to make it just slightly different. The obvious problem to that of course is that when someone gets around to permitting a new Digg member they might notice the two similar permissions; ie "Digg member" and "Digg member."

At least here two usergroups can be called just the same.
(and it is in use too...)

Knowing the ins-and-outs of DIGG's forum access functions first-hand, I think it's safe to assume that Gauge won't be detected for quite some time. When I did the first "scrub", it had not been done in several months. I have no reason to believe those currently with the ability to audit access rights will be bothering with it anytime soon - particularly when they look at it, and see the list is probably back up to 200-300 members who have rights but shouldn't.
If I'm understand Gauge correctly, a current Admin could look at his profile, and would not realize the slip. Hence, it would take a full-audit to find it.
Hence, Shen's proposal of "laying low" with it until it becomes more necessary/fruitful could be a very legitimate option.
EDIT: That first "scrub" I did took at least 3 hours of undivided attention, and was extremely tedius. That's why I say it is unlikely that somebody would do it when they see the list is 200-300 long.

How about creating a new account and then some time soon confer that right on it? That way you can distance yourself from that user and not need to use your known login.
If it is removed for inactivity or discovered to not be real, you can always repeat the step.

If possible that seems like a good idea. Decentralized espionage.

You'd have to use a proxy though otherwise its a simple case of comparing IPs. Even then some forum software can see through proxies.

No doubt.
Though it always takes a "suspicion" before they actually start sniffing. Lane and Jackrats were the primary two, and both of them seem to be AWOL lately - Jackrats in particular.
What's going on with Lane, anyways? He's no longer an in-game Admin, but is he still an active forum admin?

I had a thought, if you have unlimited access to the forum is it possible for you to do a forum backup of the database to a local folder? Not sure what software they are using but some allow you to do it from an admin panel.

They ran a forum audit last night. They did not catch the error in my permissions... looks like this option will be around for awhile.
