OK..
So, yesterday my access to the high ranking areas of Digg's forums were revoked, though I still retained access to the senior staff areas. This made me a little curious so I went and did some digging(no pun intended)
As it were, when I started in staff, I my position was called Recruiter even though I did 0 recruiting.. all I did was process then 800 new members that Digg received back in February from the first Digg.com member drive. After much complaining about how long the process took, the admins at the time, granted me "admin" access to the forums so I could process forum accounts without having to go through an actual admin.
For whatever reason, my permissions on their forums still retain my Recruiter access, which means, I can edit my permissions to regain my original full admin access. This means that at will, I can change my permissions on the forums so I can read the more.... delicate areas of Digg's forums.
My question then obviously is, do I use this.. "backdoor" .. to our advantage.

This is the problem with the current DIGG Admin team; none of them put in the time or diligence to do things like scrub access to their forums and database. As for the question - I won't touch that one with a 10-foot stick

Hmmmm...Interesting.
I think they'll probably catch you. BUT
I think this is a great opportunity to get more information in the future. I see it as you having one life. If they catch you, they'll probably remove you from the forum completely. So, why not use it when DIGG goes to war, if they ever do soon?
But, heh, highly unlikely. I say...never be afraid of the backdoor. If you don't take it, they might lock it.

I doubt they'd catch me.. as all I would have to do, is change my access for 5 seconds, pull up any threads I want to look at, then change my access back.

@ Aesir, I don't know how inner DIGG works. If you don't think they will catch you, I think you should use it. It's their fault for not being more careful. I know its not "right," but its also not "right" to buy things with real cash, but people still do it. It's a game of war...the sneakiest fool wins. @ Clause lol I wasn't even thinking about sexual innuendos...horny fool.

I think the three of us are in trouble when Europe wakes up in the morning and is appauled by our crude Yankee sexual references ;D

Well. I for one will not. I love innuendo, or just to cut the crap, sex and sexual references and then going to seek out my wife. She has a very nice backdoor you know... but then, don't all women ? ;D

Morning campers,
In a swift 'No sex I'm British' style
Aesir, If you can get access through the back door they are less likely to see you coming. In seriousness, they gave you the access, they haven't removed the access, if you rape their admin forum for useful info its really a case of them not managing their own back yard and therefore it could be their achilles heel.
It would also allow us to far better manipulate them for our own means

...and I'm sure no one will notice you moving in and out through the backdoor, provided you do it swiftly, silently, and stealthy. Being a "spy" is all about knowing and using backdoors ;D
