I'm hearing chatter that DIGG and FOIMP are bumping heads, and DIGG is preparing to restart the war.
Apparently they're concerned about Hasi stealing DIGG-cleared islands, and FOIMP pushing around HkXP.
Realdeal is a far more competent Admin than Aspen was, so there's a very real possibility this could escalate into DIGG v H|F-Phoenix-FOIMP.
Apparently DIGGers are foaming at the mouth for another conflict, and the leadership is preparing the logistics.
If this does happen, what will the Morkin position be? Neutral I presume? Joshuasmaximus and I have some unsettled business - the war against MX and Iliad ended too quickly, and he escaped my grasp on both occassions... Any problem if I were to discretely snatch an isle or two off him amidst the hailstorm?

Got to be honest Clause, its like having a spy in DIGG with you here Exalts for the heads up, personally I'm for letting you give him a slap. The decision of Alliance support if Foimp turn on you is not for me to say. although I think if this kicks off they will be far to occupied with DIGG to worry about you. I'd just suggest that you co-ordinate with someone in DIGG to avoid colo confusion

Thanks, warliter. I figured you guys had the master plan the entire time: court me until I finally got fed up with DIGG, then rely on my contacts there for juicy tidbits Just glad to be able to help out when/where I can. I understand it would be an independent action entirely. I laid waste to enough islands in those waters for the local DIGG commander that it shouldn't be an issue to coordinate with him on a personal level to ensure DIGGers stay out of my way. In theory, it would go something like this: FOIMP is busy with DIGG, I remind Joshuasmaximus of the island he bullied off of HkXP and how things like that have a way of being reciprocated, and then grab an island or two off him. Meanwhile, FOIMP is just glad enough that it was a "personal matter" and that I was acting in a "rogue manner" and without the sanctioning of the Morkin conglomerate. I have serious doubts that FOIMP would turn on me because 1) as you said, they'll be plenty busy, and 2) they saw what I did to Aspen and Rob.

Just heard back from some people who know some people... yada yada yada, cloak and dagger work. If DIGG moves on FOIMP, H|F (or [EV] or whatever they're calling themselves this week) has a "strong likelihood" to stand by their Pact mate. It sounds like Pain and Realdeal have quite the bond. Could be a fun fight to watch

what is likely to be our stance if DIGG ask us to honour our pact?
I think it ios time for us to discuss before we get asked the question

If DIGG ask us then we honour the pact. I'd like to think DIGG can handle this one on their own though, but if it comes to a fight then we should be willing to come to their aid.

What's the cause for that fight, should it break out?

Hasi taking an island or two that DIGG cleared and being less-than-accommodating in returning it.
Latest I'm hearing is that Realdeal may kick Hasi to avoid war.

Bearing in mind that Catcher did exactly the same as what Hasi did; the only difference being that Digg so far havn't even asked for the isles back, they did seem let down at his actions though.
Added; it is my belief that the only reason they didn't push the issue with us is because of who we are (ie. Morkin). That and my conversation with fhloop/loafnut about the issue just turned into a general conversation where we started talking about skiing and books.

But also, even if these things can be confusing, Catcher's colonisations has been in line with our Morkin's Island Takeover Policy, as far as I can see from the information available. While DIGG feel that if they clear an unruled isle, they claim it, our approach is that the first one to plant a flag on it has the best claim.

As for catcher, Loafnut prodded me to IRC last night, and we had a chat for an hour or two. They haven't forgotten about catcher, and they still want his head on a pike. Expect some diplomatic efforts on this front.
As for FOIMP, it sounds as though that may have been put to the backburner. Realdeal is falling all over himself to avoid the fight, and DIGG is currently distracted with [HN] - a handful of folks fixed on going out with a bang, who have been preying on DIGG isles in o11-12-13-14 (Meatpopsicle drawing many attacks).
"Sons of DIGG" (o11-12-21-22) are preparing for heavy strikes in the next couple days.

Yes, we need to agree to just one policy and then commonicate it out so other alliances knows our stance on these matters.

I'll write up a list of the two current schools of thought; I'll then post it in the main forum section. This might not be completed untill tomorrow though.
