I think I'm going to need a diplomat on this one.

I sent out my 2nd colony attempt last night to 34:68:14. The first one failed. This would have been about 5 or 6 AM in the morning GMT. I wake up this morning to see that it has been colonized by enkor of PAIN. No biggy, he beat me to it.

So I contact him to request that he doesn't send stonies. Here's the thread. (bottom up)

Fairly simple. This colonization attempt was sent out about 12 hours ago. Sometime between then and now (which was early morning for me), you colonized the island. No problem.

I contact you, informing you of my incoming. Sometime before the past 8 hours (assuming LWS, Sails 10, Watchtower, 20), you've dispatched boats with stoners. That means 4 hours after colonization, you sent out ships.

That's not a reasonable amount of time for someone to contact you.

Well let's see what happens. The stonies will arrive on the island 24 hours + after colonization. So I'm struggling to see what rule I've violated. Hence I'm not sure compensation is justified.

I had been aiming for that isle for the past week. The first trip failed, this is the second.

If there is damage, I will be expecting compensation, because you didn't wait 24 hours to post stoners on the isle.

I guess we have to hope for the best. Any cats in your expedition?

This bad luck on both our parts, there are a fair number of isles down there.

Theres no rule that says he has to wait for any amount of time before putting stonies on his new isles,
We dont do it because it leads to a lot of hassle but thats due to our choice, not some iron clad rule.
Having said that i'd have asked him how many stonies he sent and tried to organise a clearing fleet.

clearing fleet was sent. I think it should be cleared up.

Not entirely sure how it will all turn out, but it should be fine. I just got initial spy reports back, and it seems like he stonie dropped it before then too. I'll post the results when they come in.
