It's been discussed on the in-game forum, we need more space so here goes.
Here's the thread so far:

Well theres no time like the present and I believe we need to get organised, especially as were not in the top 10 or even 20, and many foolish alliances will consider us easy pickings.
My ideas for job titles include head admin, recruitment officer, admiral admin, diplo admin, quadrant leaders etc etc.
feel free to relentlessly edit and remove these titles to suit you.
I think we can vote for job names, as well as players.

Sounds good to me, can you define what role each title-holder would fulfill?
I know most of it is obvious, but humour me OK?

i'd like to volunteer for a position in the diplomacy section, either in recruitment or general diplomacy,
Although i have no previous experience in the game with this sort of work i feel i could contribute quite well, as i have time to spare and i can accurately pass on information without bias,

I actually would prefer the more inexperienced ones, as these are often those who are more active, more keen, and more enthusiastic, not to mention respectable of other peoples views.

As for positions,
Head admin will basically oversee all events, inputting his/her opinions and making final decisions.
Admin of Admiralty and War controls war plans, war organisation and is in charge of locating possible threats and eliminating them as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Admin of Diplomacy and Peace will control all affairs with other alliances, and build relationships both inside and outside the alliance. He/she will also collate information, of which some may be passed on to Admin of Admiralty.

Quadrant leaders will own a quadrant, and will aid lower members. These will often be the highest in regards to fleets, isles etc. Obviously if you are the only one in your quadrant you will automattically be quadrant leader.
Quadrants will have names according to their roles etc. e.g (One4752Red)
Where one = ocean, 47-52 = squares covered and Red either means offensive (you have strong support in you area, and need to look to expand urgently) Or Blue, defensive, and you need to stay put in your quadrant if possible, and make a stand, or yellow (moderate support, expand when neceesary.
We can't afford to have any weak spots.

Obviously there will be a ranking of diplomats and admirals such as Admin of Diplomacy, Head Diplo, Diplo West Quadrants, Diplo East Quadrants, Diplo North... and so on as well as admiral west quadrant.
That means everyone will be involved, i hate alliances where admins keep everything to themselves and expect members to just be happy. Everything will be co-ordinated and organised, as well as (of course) fun

Thats alot of roles to fill for such a small alliance, I'm not even sure that so many are actually required.
In my experience Admins usually deal with most diplomatic issues and Admirals don't do anything 99% of the time.

I agree about getting everyone involved. That's the key to a good alliance I feel.

I want to get everyone involved so we become something new, a revolution almost. As much as i enjoy being admin i feel the power would be put to better use shared out.
Obviously with us being in our early stages, only the core roles will be fulfilled such as Admins etcetera.

OK, here's some ideas for roles:
1. Head admin - it's a democratic alliance but this person would have the final say if a decision wasn't forthcoming, a veto/casting vote holder if you like.
2. Recruitment Admin - Would be responsible for accepting/declining new applicants and the correspondance that entails. All applicants should be treated with respect, ie given a PM to let them know how their application is progressing and a polite PM if they are declined explaining why. This admin would post details of new applicants as they crop up and try to find out as much as they can about them to help the decision making process.
3. Admirals. Ideally one admiral per ocean with perhaps a head Admiral to coordinate inter ocean ventures. We could split oceans into smaller sectors if needs be.

Admirals would of course come up with strategies when fighting is taking place, but could also identify good sites for new colonies and good targets for raiding/farming, ie inactives with high scores etc.
Diplomats: Pretty obvious, involved with talking to other alliances in times of war and peace.
This might be better discussed on the other forums

I concur, this is a large issue which requires space.
