I think in this Morkin is kind of the British Empire. We were the early power in the game, ruled the waves, a history of winning against the odds, and still able to win a war quickly and decisively.
Digg are the US. Massive production base, yet really not overall able to get it together to have that quick decisive victory. More likely to get bogged down and win by attrition. There are exceptions and they are welcome to join Luxor.
Pantheon are the French. Constantly getting their arse kicked but never losing their arrogance or inflated self view. They have nukes making them potentially dangerous. Phoenix, FOIMP, EV: bit like Italy, Spain or Greece. Constantly picking the wrong side to back.
Valheru are the dark horses. Bit of an unknown quantity, but quite possibly a power equal to Morkin - just untried. We have a Pact with them, so maybe it's time to invigorate that relationship, and our one with with Angel.

I hate that sort of nationalistic comparisons. Never quite feel right, that simple definitions.
Anyway.... Valheru is clearly a unknown quantity. They have a history of being allied to us, DIGG and ANGEL, and fighting E|S. I'm personally uneasy about that V4mp character; I don't trust him.
Anybody with good relations to any Valheru should sound them out.

Doesn't really help knowing where they are at, but it tells us they have been asked, and declined.

When questioned if Valheru would get involved if Pantheon decided to war DIGG --

are we going to try and build a relationship with [E||M]?

I suggest we open a new thread discussing our pact options. After we discuss our choices, we create a poll. Let democracy decide who we should pact or not pact with.

Question, are we going to try and build a relationship with [E||M]? When I finally convince everyone that we should dump our pact with DIGG, we will need a couple descent alliances close by to fill in the gap.

lol In a democracy, you'll never convince someone of the same thing. So, lets say we stay with DIGG. Can this be a possible future for us then? : 1. Help DIGG vs. Pantheon 2.DIGG + Morkin destroy Pantheon. 3. There are no more enemies to destroy. 4. Human nature says we'll fight our neighbor. 5. We fight DIGG. So, I think either path would lead to us vs. DIGG...thing is. If DIGG continue with their selfish acts of not informing us of their precious "DIGG effect" etc...they might easily beat us. So: 6. DIGG wins, morkin is no more.

That's precisely why I don't think letting DIGG go it alone is the worst option.
1. They have the military might to do it. They still have 1.4 million points on Pantheon (more than all of Morkin+ together, though I didn't check the math here...), and they are merging their inactives into their actives, so their fleets are probably up to par for the fight.
2. If DIGG wins, we'll have to hope they continue to be a benevolent hegemon. Yet, DIGG needs "instant gratification" to hold together, so they will be looking for new wars, and we're on a short list of candidates.
3. If Pantheon wins, DIGG will only be humbled and reduced, and Pantheon will return to it's original alliances (Pantheon-EV-FOIMP-Unknown-Phoenix). This presents various potential war adversaries for us, all of which are far more favorable odds than DIGG vs Morkin.

Exactly.
Goes back to the same thing. Leaving DIGG now would probably be better for us seeing as they're not AS strong as they'll be in the future at the rate they are expanding.
There is one possibility, well two, maybe
That we stay neutral, but this won't last for long and is most likely not going to happen.
or
we join Pantheon etc...and defeat DIGG...but not make that close of a relationship with Pantheon and others so that they'll become fair game in future wars.
Yet...something tells me that we are a peaceful alliance. Does being peaceful mean the same thing as being DIGG's Puttana!?

I would be happy if DIGG could be convinced to break into several smaller alliances with 2 factions that are not pacted

I've suggested a few things to Digg admins that would improve their PR, and splitting was one of them.

I'm definitely with Sol and Clausewitz on this one. I believe allowing DIGG to fight on their own while we stand on the sidelines is the right way to proceed 'if' a war were to break out between the two 'super' powers.
At least then, as it has been mentioned, DIGG will be reduced and Pantheon would split, both cases are better for Morkin in the long run.

I agree- we have been heavily involved in a lot of wars on this server so far, would be nice for all our opponents to weaken themselves a little
