First time ever since playing .co.uk and .com, I got Kampfed.

What's the point of building spears 24/7 for months only for 150LWs to take out almost 5k of them?

Only good thing is that island had no offense anyway and had only been a feeder for the main O33 isle that does have a fleet, it took out 250LWs in earlier attacks so not a complete waste.

But how are Kampfs worked out? My understanding is it's a 0.5% chance every time, is that modified depending on the size of the forces?

Is it worth sending 200 x 1LW attacks?

I have been talking to Ajdub. He says DIGG have noticed a lot more kampfs happening recently and believe that maybe Sven has altered something. I think they believe sending 75/100 lws is most efficient (or most luck)... apparently anyway

Heh, I had the same thing happen to me. It's Finocchio!, it's tough luck, it's just lame, but it;s probably necessary.

It may be worth a try. the majority of the time they come out even.

Aja and I have some experiences with kampfs as well. Recently against JRo, when he fleetsaved my main attacks, and still managed to have his garrisons return within a 2 second window to defend against my follow-up attacks. Annoying, but it saved the big fleets any significant losses, and one of the the smaller fleets then took out the defenders anyway

I've looked at all our battle reports, and its not about the absolute size of the fleet. There is no optimal kampf fleet, but i wouldn't go sending anything that has less than 5% chance of winning.

I suppose you could work what size fleet, relative to the target, would give the highest average chance of a kampf. Not sure how you'd put all the math though :\

Well the DB includes a calculator for that.
