This poll is in preparation of developing a general policy towards the selling of accounts. There seems to be a need for such a policy with all this recent change of accounts for not insubstantial amounts of money.

I voted to keep it out. I don't mind buying an account and getting rid of your old one, but buying multiple accounts with the intentions of merging isn't fair. It's an unfair advantage to anyone without the money to spend on the game.

I agree, money should be kept out of the game. The only exception I see to this is after being decimated in a war, buying back in.

The only money that should be spent on this game is 20 USD, and thats for purchasing XXL.

Voted Yes. It should be a rule that if your account is sold while you are in KoM your isles are subject to cannibalism by the alliance.

I voted I don't have an opinion. I can see both sides of the story here but to be honest if someone is daft enough to buy an account then by all means allow them to, it is after all their money.

If after spending hours, days, weeks, months (and nights) on a game like this there comes someone waving good money reflecting this time and effort (plus intellectual properties like creativity and ingenuity) and at the same time I have the idea that I've seen enough than I'm definitely taking the money. That's the seller's prerogative then.
If I'm done with my photography hobby I'm also out there trying to sell my camera stuff. As an example.
Now the buyer's side. Normally one assumes only one person will buy only one account, but it's not the responsibility of the seller to monitor this or check this. If third parties detect abnormal hoarding of stuff, beyond reasonability, then it's their prerogative to act on it when they feel it unfairly disadvantages them, but quite frankly, since you can't detect everything, nor will it be easy to see how many separate cats or stoners one buys and one cannot hope to catch them all it is inherently futile in my opinion.

Sure, that's not a problem. The problem is, do we let the guy who paid you get away with it?

I think there's a big distinction between buying and selling accounts and buying and selling cats etc.
'm definitely against buying and selling accounts but not so against buying and selling of cats and resources etc.

What is the distinction? I'm not doubting there is one, but just looking for the ammunition to defend the position publicly, since others have already linked the two as interchangable on the IK forums

This game comes down to LWS and Spears for the most part. The things you can't transfer. Hence why buying an account is so much more "advantageous" than simply buying up lots of cats and stoners.

I can't see the difference between buying cats and stoners and buying isles or whole accounts that produce them, as long as the person buying it doesn't run two or more accounts at once.
