Hi, I'm onewhoknowsitall or owkia if you prefer. Just to ease any minds, I don't actually think I know it all. I originally came up with the name back in 6th grade when I started using AOL Instant Messenger. Heh, it seemed clever enough at the time. I started getting into some forums where I used the name and it has stuck since then.
I'm 19 years old and graduated High School last year. I'm taking a year off from college and am currently working at Hollywood Video. I enjoy watching movies so that works out quite well. I play Counterstrike when I have some time, which isn't nearly as often as I'd like.
I've been playing on the UK server for a little over a year now. I've played a few other browser based games, but IK is the only one that I've stuck with. I just recently left -S- here on the .com server as it was one of the worst alliances I've seen. They aren't even organized enough to delete my account from their external forums, so I still have access.
Hopefully I'll be able to get to know some of you a little better in the future. I'm planning on sticking around for a while.

CS is at 1.6 and it won't be going any higher than that. Valve has released CS Source, which is horrible. They've seemingly given up on 1.6. Kids love their pretty graphics these days, regardless of how crappy the gameplay is.

Talk to tom_the_buffalo_soldier about CS. He's obsessed with it. Too big for my laptop though, I have to stick with text based games

I have both CS 1.6 and CS:S, don't get a chance to play either though at Uni because of port blocking. When one can play though they are damn good fun, you might also want to try the HL1 mod Natural Selection; twas my favourite Welcome to FoM though

Is this the same counterstrike that was a mod for halflife or the purchased stand alone version?

CS 1.6 was (and still is) a free mod for Half-life I believe. CS:CZ (Condition Zero) is stand-alone and must be purchased seperately but has a smaller base of players. CS:S is usually bought in conjunction (and on its own?) with Half-life2 products, the makers of CS never thought it would grow to be so popular, I think^

Your mad... 1.6 is alrite, but CSS is something else, i've played over 500 hours of it (yes im sad as im sure you've all guessed by now), yet im still not bored! Maybe you should try Day of Defeat Source, it's like a source version of Call of duty. Amazing game!

500 hours on a game so far is alot? i wish I could remember the ranking website I would visit for CS 1.6. It listed my highest month at 206 hours. Thats when I put the game away and turned off my computer for about 3 months. what a wake up call. anyone remember a CS 1.6 clan called DruGz or UGP? My friends are telling my to buy BF 2142, is it all they say it is?

I never played CS 1.6 so I cant comment. some people tel me that they messed up the gameplay in the new version, but I dont really understand how they could have done that, as far as I'm aware, CSS is just a similar game with better graphics. I got this game, and I played it for a bit, but I dont know, I wasnt so keen on it. I think it would be fun if I had friends who played it, as the squad stuffs quite good! But on your own, not so fun. Still, If you got it, I'd give you a game. Day of defeat does seem like a good game! There was a free weekend trial for the Steam Users who purchased Half-Life 2 (like me). People who buy CS:S seperately get it included in their little package. (Like Corus) 206 hours in a month is alot! I've played along time though. Most in a day was 8 hours. <lol> Anyway, Welcome onewhoknowsitall! Your thread seems to have been hijacked! ;D

CSS is horrid, I say, horrid! They did way more than just change the graphics from 1.6 to source. It's a whole new game engine so the gameplay is nothing like that of 1.6. One thing that I really don't like is that they made the player models larger, making them easier to hit. The gameplay of 1.6 owns source any day. CSPromod looks promising though. They're basically recreating the 1.6 engine to use in source so it will have the updated graphics. They've so far released source versions of Dust2, Inferno, Nuke and Train that are laid out like the 1.6 versions, but are still working on the mod itself.

Nope. I was in MX for a very short while before -S-, but not Empire or Tenth.
