Next up: Cup of Dreams, WWII As I told SB in an IGM, I welcome any advice/insights/reprimands/et al from the veterans (and less-senior members, for that matter) around here. I've been a Diplo and Admin in the past, but never an Admiral. Given that everyone here is a combat vet, I don't anticipate it will be too tough to aid in warfighting coordination. I've seen the Morkin War Machine at work first hand, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a tad eager to see it again

As long as you can spin it with DIGG to make sure we don't get jumped in a 10-1 fight from the backside, I'm sure we can mop the floor with the Orcs, and be home in time for supper ;D
Lokim is right on my doorstep and would be one Hell of a challenge, but what good is an Admiral who doesn't lead from the front, eh?

Well... we could use a stronghold system that is prepared before any conflict.
Strongholds would be isles that has large fleet and is considered to be safe to send stoners and cats from where ever on the map. One for each area/ocean we (all our alliances) have notable presence.
First someone would analyze the locations query for suitable isles and then decide where they would be (considering the owners capabilities as well), then announce them to be official and point out the official building guidelines for the owner.
There are lots of people who contribute willingly but are not too keen to fight themselves, and most isles can't be near when crisis brake out somewhere.
So, if ou ever have a dull moment of idleness, you can do that or anything else... but i guess didn't have to tell you this.
But as a senior member, i have one 'order' too... Don't burn yourself out. Take pleasant tasks, and don't do too much of them either. And keep Calamity happy too ;D

It's a colo conflict. Teris of Corleth already had the island, that Monkey guy offered compensation, but took it anyway with cats. They now have called our colo-policy "asinine", which is a word I haven't heard from an Orc before. I said we would be taking it back. So perhaps we should hang on to that pact with Digg for a few more days...

I'll take a look around this coming weekend (Calamity works long shifts, leaving me with nothing but IK and the "kids"). I'm sure we have dozens of 8k+ spear islands that would be pretty immune to fleetsteals - just going to be a matter of using the database to identify them and making sure we designate them well geographically. @ Oliver - yeah, I've been following it. Concern is that if the Orcs cleared the islands, per DIGG's colo policy, that gives them "rights". So they might be less-than-sympathetic to our position

Regardless of the version of colonisation etiquette used, surely our reciprocated pact with DIGG overules the fact that the Orcs followed DIGGs procedure?
The Orcs now follow a version of colonisation etiquette? Gorbag will be spinning in his grave!

Staff meetings F***ING SUCK!
I miss the days when I was just a peon and could go out and run around with GI Joes. This sitting for two hours with "senior leaders" and talking bureaucracy drives me nuts.
That is all.
I may be launching on this mkhan illiterate twerp to relieve some irritation...

I may be gone 14-27 October.
Calamity should be able to login to my account daily to keep an eye out for red (XXL will run everything) and make the few and far between upgrades left.
Ideally, though, I can have a "back up caretaker" in place, in the event that something big happens. Someone she can drop a note to and say, "Hey, Clause's account is lit up red, I need some help!"
Anybody up for the task?
I should note, the 14-27 October is not yet set in stone (nothing in the Army ever is until it happens).

Ask Luke, he one of the few who could act quickly enough in terms of stonie drops and the such and he knows how all your isles work. Not volunteering him or anything but he a good candidate.

You the man, Luke!
Like I said, no gaurantees it happens, and if it does, I won't be needing shipments or anything of the sort. Simply someone who knows the basics in fleetsaving/stonerdropping/etc should they light up red.
Calamity is still rather green when it comes to warfighting - only real experience is taking prey that doesn't punch back in rulerless isles.
I'll make sure that she knows you're the man to talk to if something comes up that is beyond her experience/ability.
