Yeah I read those first, my personal favourite part of the series were the planet hopping in one of the last two books (was it the last?). The concept behind the Shrike still confuses me even now, not just its purpose but also its origin. Throughout the book I'm sure its story of creation changes slightly, or perhaps it just becomes clearer with more information to piece together the jigsaw. Added: Have you ever read Alastair Reynolds books? I personally rank them higher than Dan Simmons novels. Chasm City etc? Great stuff, now try Richard K Morgan! Greg Bear

Triple poster as well I think I might have read a Richard Morgan novel, untill I get back home for Christmas though I won't be able to check though. The other two authors I've never heard of before o.O

I'm visiting home again from today (27th Sep) untill probably Saturday (29th Sep). I'll probably not be online as much but I'll still be keeping up to date with stuff and should have good access if we go to war
