That is the question albeit a rather obscure one.
My iPod 3rd Gen 15gb is getting a bit old and its now full. So the question is do I go for the 16gb iTouch or the 160gb Classic?
I'm erring on the classic purely because of the size and the fact that the iTouch is a retarded iPhone, and since it's been announced that we are getting the iPhone on O2 this year there's not much point in buying a retarded iTouch (using retarded in its not insulting form here).
I'd like your input please.

Yeah I had an iPod 3g 20gb and it took a smasher on me. Are you a girl? If not, just get the 160gb classic. I bet you that all that touching of the screen will be more annoying than you think. Be a man, get the classic and let the ladies cross their legs over the iTouch.

Haha I'm a man. I do like the idea of inbuilt Safari though. Although until someone develops a WEP hacking program it'll be useless, I'm not paying for wireless outside my house

I think digital is one of those guys that doesn't transfer music over, simply puts new music on. He will be the dude with a sash full of iPods all labeled with different music. digital: "No I know that Toby Keith song is on one of these iTouchs or iPods..." Random guy: "Why didn't you just get a 120 gb classic dude?" digital: "because i'm a girl and like safaris. mmmm rhinos and elephants really get me going." Random guy "............................."

OMG do you know digital personally? Thats just the sort of dialogue that digital would be involved in, with all the correct roles. Exalts hehe. In more seriousness though, what are the advantages of a touch? Yes its got wifi, but you wont be using it on the bus (no wifi) or at home (you've got a computer) and if you were out and about in leeds/bradford etc your most likley going to be with somebody anyway so you would be preoccupied there. The only time you would use wifi is to buy music from the store or if you were on your billy...

I think digital has a passion for fashion so he can't decide between the rugged, manly, more useful 160gb classic or the sleek, shiny, beautiful 16gb iTouch. in fact, speaking of "passion for fashion, i heard the reason the Bratz movie came out is because of all the spam from digital and his friends.

In 6 months, Apple is going to come up with a chip to insert in your brain and when you want to browse songs/listen to them, you only have to think it. Apparently, the product will be called iThink....
Anyway, I've got an iPod Classic 30GB...and the battery sucks. I watch one video, and it dies. Now imagine the new iPod, it has more functions, and I bet the battery will last even less. I guess one could argue that it has internet and all that, but do you really need to be on the net all day?...*cough*

Mine is 30GB? lol
I've had my iPod for 2 years, maybe it does need a battery change, I should get one before my warranty expires. My brother had one and they charged him for a new battery at BestBuy..dunno if you have those in Canada.

I have the 30gb model. Apple offers a free battery replacement from their website. www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/battery/www.apple.com/batteries/replacements.htmlIt is a known issue that they lose their charge after about a year. If it is still under warranty from Best Buy, they should do it for free. Mine from Futureshop (same thing as Best Buy, owned by Best Buy, and Best Buy's biggest 'competitor' in Canada) includes a battery replacement. Edit: added second link, comments.

See the latter part. If it is under warranty (up to 2 years if you bought it, or in store) then it would be free.
I'm not sure if you bought it with an additional warranty, but Best Buy should replace it if it is still under warranty. If not, throw a fit in the middle of the store floor, demand to see a manager, and make a general stink about it. It's a small enough issue they should just give it to you.
Not that I'd ever do this... no....
