You da man! How long did it take you to do the last shed? And how did you get the materials there (bricks, wood and even the sand)?

I started there in 2001 and we bought this one late 2005 so i worked there every now and then for 5 summers. Fixing the shed took one summer i think. Sand was bought, many loads of it, as well as some of the timber, the roofs were free. Most of the bricks i just fetched for free but those on the chimney outside the building are fresh from the pack as they need to withstand constant rain, sun, soaking and then freezing. Old ones will do just fine if they don't have to withstand weather. And how, by car or lorry of course. (Everyone re-watch the summerhousepics now as i added comments)

Check out 6 of 23 Is that a thong? I pray to god not. Haha! Thats my dad and i assure he wears no thongs... He has those shorts without underpants obviously, and and aprin. See his neck, and the string is tied around his waist and attached to the frontside. Its was very handy on roof as it has pockets to hold nails and stuff.

Would never have placed a "floor on mud", but after your explanaition, it makes sense. In the Artic we have to think with esquimo shoes one . Naturaly your floor is like a tabletop which will move as a whole whith temp. changes. Very interesting. Even the modern houses are sometimes built on top of mud. They just remove the "living" layer until they reach the untouched thick and stable mud. Its sloped slightly away from the center and drainpipes are laid around. Layer of special fabric is then placed to keep the mud... Actually my house sits on a concrete raft that 'floats' on an ancient deposit of Oelian Clay... The clay is full of 4 million year old mussel shells... So you could say my house is built on mussels... ;D
