Bah, McGorgeous doesn't like my sense of humour. Fine, here's the real one... That's the Minnesota Twins' own Johan Santana on the mound, against the Cardinals, in a 2007 Spring Training game down at Fort Myers, Florida. I remember logging in from the hotel to launch attacks against Empire...

You all use THEMES... Yack!
I bet you also have all others of those 154 unnecessary windows services running in the background eating up all your performance.

154? lol
Yeah I reckon i have a lot of useless things on my computer but I don't exactly know what to delete on it...I'm afraid of deleting "important" things.

I'd be interested to know which ones I can kill. My CPU can barely keep up half the time, but like Sol, I'm nervous about killing them without crashing my system. Any chance you can give a quick "how to" outline to eliminate some of the unnecessary garbage that runs by default?

.. and when you do decide which to kill, get the PSKILL commandline tool from Sysinternals (it's free, and yes, Microsoft has bought Sysinternals). PSKILL can kill almost any process or service that is running. Of course, also those you probably shouldn't kill

He was just referring to turning of visual themes and going back to the Win2k look. Not nearly so pretty, but it can make a difference on your performance.

There's an app called "downthemall" you can install to switch off everything that isn't critical to Windows. www.downthemall.net/Mine, just recently tidied up (laptop):
