It looks good, I believe there are a few units available at the moment but they are not in military use just yet.

WTF? I downloaded a video clip "Nothing comes close" from Eurofighters site www.eurofighter.com/medialibrary/videos.asp and expected some kind of neutral introduction to it... Instead it's like a beginning of some ridiculous hollywood blockbuster where bad "rogue elements" have captured a chemical plant and and intend to blow it on civilians. Megaplane Typhoon then intercepts and saves the day. What the Chiavata!? Is this how these fighters are sold? By compelling the 10 year old boy in Defence Ministers? Is this just one misstep or are all other guns sold alike... I kinda expected dull board of professional nerds analyzing for 4 years before any arms order... .

Well, speaking from Canadian politics... They love the flash. If you can sell them on the flash, they'll take it hook line and sinker.

Is it good? Not tested yet i guess? Apparently in active service, I've not seen one yet myself though: news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6957589.stmFunny picture, the futuristic looking fighter intercepts the WWII looking Bear. ;D

It's a bit odd, completely isolated from "the real world", in some ways that's good as you don't have to worry about things like people trying to abduct your children etc but you are in a bit of an artificial environment. It's noisy as you'd expect but you quickly get used to that, most of the housing on RAF bases is very nice, especially for the officers! You do tend do get a bit of a "them and us" thing going with the officers and the NCOs, I just started picking up on it as I started at Junior school, I expect it gets worse as you get older. Not a problem for the adults so much but worth bearing in mind if you have children and they are going to an RAF school. Overall I think it's a positive thing, you move around a lot and have to get good at making new friends and adapting to different situations and circumstances, I think it makes you more tolerant and understanding. Now stop asking me dumb questions you nosey bugger.

Yeh what I thought. Probably thing I'd be most worried about. Absolutely a huge culture change for me I guess. Probably the weirdest would be the bases in the Falklands or Cyprus where you are completely cut off from the world outside the base. Definately what I want to do though.

I never went to any of those places unfortunately, West Germany (as it was known then in 1978) was the furthest afield I got, my father did go to Cyprus on exercise amongst other places though. I did get to Wales and Scotland though, so I was cut off from civilisation in those cases.
