It has now become a common practice to post soldierless kamikaze lords to block the path of whole armies.
This seems a bit unrealistic, so I propose that battles against overwhelming forces (1 : 100 for example) are calculated on the spot: a certain number of hours lost, if the attacker is successfull, or the night falls if not.

Sure I do. But, well, they're heroes, I suppose, like that chap from Sparta, the name slips my mind at the moment, that with 30 soldiers held a gap in Greek mountains against whole Persian army.

Or Horatius (English: Horatio) at the bridge. It's called rearguard actions, I don't find them horribly more unrealistic than so much else in this game. Actually I like them for the tactical play very much, so I think the way things work currently is great. www.dl.ket.org/latinlit/historia/people/heroes/horatius01.htm

I agree. It was good enough for LoM (the world's greatest ever game), so it's good enough for MU! As I said, and I think that Ringy and Mads has also commented on elsewhere, MU is not meant to be realistic. It's more about FUN than anything else. Hopefully, anyway
