When under attack from another player and there is a good chance that the enemy could take possession of your planet, but also a good chance that we LoM will takethe planet back
instead of destroying every single building
sell all silica, uranium and plutonium reserves to the traders
then destroy the power stations and the trade centre
nearly all buildings will be rendered useless
No silica means the enemy will have to ship in any silica start to build the power stations back up so that they can make the planet productive
Meanwhile the rest of the alliance can make plans to take the planet back.
Once taken back it will only be a few days before the planet is back to full power
Obviously unless the enemy destroys the buildings himself once he owns it.

Shouldn't Landing Pad also be demolished? Enemy could otherwise easly bring in all resources needed for building.
I would destroy Landing Pad instead of Trading Centre. With all kalamite sold (along with Si, Pt and U) and power plants destroyed, trading would be impossible anyway. Plus, one cannot really buy anything useful, not even a handful of silica, without reasonable amount of crystals (and/or kalamite to create it).
Just a thought.
Additional:
If one sells all kalamite, plutonium can be spared, since all three advanced types of power plants require kalamite to build.
Plus, Landing Pad needs 100 power units to run, while Trade Center needs whopping 250 units. So, one Solar Plant is not enough to even start it.

I'd considered the landing pad but IMO the trade centre is far more crucial
The planet management module provides 1000 power and hence the trade centre would be operational immediately. All remaining resources can then be sold through the trade centre, and then you are 5 ticks away from getting whatever resources you require.
With no Trade centre the enemy is forced to ship in any resources (which can be intercepted) to build reactors before any other buildings can be utilised.

also the ability to recycle buildings will mean that a limited amount of resources will be available for the rebuilding of Trade Centre or Landing Pad, but the Trade Centre takes longer and requires more resources than the Landing Pad
