Shall we ask Raistlin if we can station our gear at his planet in anticipation? I think it's just a short hop from his gaff to the target.
Are we certian that we give no warning? Not even a casual "Please Vaffanculo!?"

Sounds good. I'll go with the majority, but IMHO I 'm not sure, the "hello, get out of my quadrant" thing gives the right message. The game appears more balanced than most and there are not many regular active players at this stage. It doesn't appear to be like IK where you get pummelled because you are small. I am confident we can do it in the style of healthy competition without getting personal - after all we do it to each other in MMU every day! The person will still have their resource base and production base - just not the spybase! I say go for it and test the water.
Did I mention I've got a spare Genesis transport handy?

Ok let's do it then. If you send a vampire, I'll send a small acompnying fleet. There are no planetary defences to speak of, but I'll send a few cyborgs too. Does anyone have an idea of when the planet's immunity runs out. Can't be long...

Is there any chance they want us to go for it, so they have an excuse to retaliate somewhere else?

Is there any chance they want us to go for it, so they have an excuse to retaliate somewhere else? You might be right - the planet doesn't look like it's growing. But then again, we are considerably bigger than RSR. Now if they are allied to Creators...

The RSR planet has not gained any points for at least a day and I can't see the overall score of this alliance growing either. I wonder what is happening? Perhaps relieving RSR of an unwanted planet may be a form of community spirit?

Is there any chance they want us to go for it, so they have an excuse to retaliate somewhere else? Possibly so, but personally I'd like to go for it and see what happens. I genuinely think this game is more in the spirit of MMU than IK - they seem a friendly bunch with few STs to set the hormones going. I think it would be seen in the right context, but I won't do anything that will upset the alliance. My vampire is waiting.

Go for it! As mentioned this seems a friendly game and it is close-ended so no point sitting around building statues!
Someone make a poll if you feel the need and I think it best if we don't reveal our full force yet, so I'll be a reserve unless needed, just shout!

No need for a poll. Any dissenters make their feelings known here within the next 24 hours otherwise Gareth and I are going planet draining.

Right I am sending the vampire in to see what happens. Will keep you all posted.....
Edit: Soddin' hell, small techy hitch - you cannot launch from a protected planet (which Raists is) even if your homeworld isn't!

Gentleman,
It has come to pass that on this day, the sacred and ancient order of Midnight has taken steps to ensure the continued safety and liberty of all our members. As I write this a combined force of units from both Member Starshatter and Member Harlequin are preparing to assult Planet 001:02:4:30, owned by the organisation known as RSR. It is anticipated that our victory will be crushing, as befits our martial heritage and the high levels of expertise that our forces possess. I will bring you further details later in the day, but in the meantime, let readiness be our watchword as we await the response from RSR.

The Grand Master Sea Horse, Tim of the Bus, has revealed the following strategy in pursuit of glorious honour. My solitary vampire will hit at 2pm, and leech for 2 ticks. Star Marshall Timbus' invasion fleet will hit at 3pm - cyborgs and heavy fighters at strafing level! Moon Corporal Starshatter's reserve fleet of Corvettes, Fighters, Cyborgs and Assault tanks will hit at 5pm, should the Marshall's forces not suffice.
A critique of tactics, and a political analysis will then ensue.

The leech is working a treat!! All manner of resources getting nicked! Wonderful!
OK first learning. You can't invade a planet that is already being targetted - therefore I have issued a "goto" order for now. When its there I can (hopefully) issue a new invade order if necessary....

At 3.00 GMT, the Free people of Midnight struck a blow for liberty by assaulting and then colonizing the planet formerly known as 1:2:4:30. From now on the newly named planet of Kahudrarg will enjoy the full protectionof the Midnight quadrant. It is my pleasure to announce that no ships or personnel were lost in this encounter. The new planet brings the following rewards:
Silica -86% Aluminium -68% Steel 52% Titanium - Standard - Uranium -42% Plutonium 59% Kalamite 85%
The leeching actions of Captain S. Shatter were particularly commendable.
We await a response from the enemy... ;D
