Or2 has such an extensive list of ships, and I suspect that most players are blinded by it. Like a red banner waving in front of a bull - it goes for the banner and not for the man. I suspect that this factor actually "iludes" most players (myself included) in thinking that we need a large fleet to protect or attack, when in fact you dont. The key to invasion is and always was ground units. Without them your planet is totaly open to an easy invasion. (Mine are at the moment...doors are wide open) The best defence therefore is not making a barrier to all ships, but rather target all TR ships and have a big ground force. You could loose all your ships if the attacker is bigger and stronger, but what do you care if you get to knock out all thoses Transports and see space get filled with human flesh and flying tanks. In the end you get to keep your planet at probably less cost than your attacker...and you might get lucky with a score drop and be under 60% from the agreesor, disabling another chance of invasion.... And look how easy it is to get transports through enemy lines!! There are only 5 types of ships that target TR's. The only other type of ship that has such a low amount of possible enemies are Flagships!!!!! Look, transports even get past SS!!!! Does any of this make sence

Now that I've said the above I've had another thought: If we all agree that the best defence is to protect against TR's and therefore and invasion force, Then what would you say if our Quad Defence force was made up of just such ships. It would be easier to manage (we would just need as much of FR.2 - Hawk, CO.1 - Python, CO.2 - Venom, CO.5 - Vega, and FI.3 - Bullet as possible). The Quad defence should be considered as a reinforcement fleet to help protect the planet, and not eliminate the enemy. and each member can build up his own fleet as he sees fit of course.

I think the bottom line is - the game is so totally unbalanced that girls will have to do much work in properly set it up.
Or maybe I'm just biased by our overwhelming victory?

I think we need some serious competition to decide if it's unbalanced or not, we've not had that so far at least.
Imp was the only player in the same league as Perun and HoH but he had no alliance to back him up, we're the only organised alliance it seems.

Yes. Compared to IK and Travian this is a small universe, with still some work to achieve the ideal balance.

There is another flaw :
If you build loads of TRs you will need to defend them somehow, if anyone did this to me IU'd probe all their planets to find their TRs and then send a large anti-TR fleet to get them.
