I had a plan a while back to hav 1k archers, 1k stoners and 2k spearies... when i got to the targets i found that spearfighters are better basically - but lws are the best
for a while ive been building 100 speafighters for every 10 lws - so i hav 50 to attack with and 50 defending... it works out quit nicely apart from the time overlap!!
As far as cats go.. hav 25-30 on each isle with a colo ship - enough to take down 1 building and colonise an isle!! You canbung aload in one place but they do much less damage... just boost ur ego
Oh and also i get to 100 sws on an isle with 200 stoners - for mobile defence purposes but also as a suicide fleet - believe it or not i think there may be a fault with some programming as i always seem to take out much more than i shud withthis fleet

It isn't my theory, it is derived from Chipmonk's(used to be Pueblo)
Here you go:
In just under 1440 minutes or 1 day you can build either 78 Stone throwers, 46 Spearmen or 33 Archers.
The Stone Throwers cost 4680, the Spearmen cost 5520 and the Archers cost 5940.
When defending: 78 Stone Throwers will win 42.8% vs 78 Stone Throwers, 17.8% vs 46 Spearmen and 27.8% vs 33 Archers
When defending: 46 Spearmen will win 76.7% vs 78 Stone Throwers, 44.8% vs 46 Spearmen and 64.2% vs 33 Archers
When defending : 33 Archers will win 62.7% vs 78 Stone Throwers, 28% vs 46 Spearmen and 43.6% vs 33 Archers
This shows how pants Stone Throwers are and how archers are too expensive and take to long to build for what they are. Also in my experience you lose far less in the way of spearmen compared to the other troop types.

Catas are strong but can die easy, Build at least 50 mininum. I thought stone throwers was crap at the start of the game and I still do but they are useful for chucking on a new colony you nicked to keep it safe, 1000 a colony you plan to take is a good start.
Archers and spearmen... well you make your mind up on this as me and admin are butting heads on this but mini arguements is a good way for you lot to choose. Build some archers for wars if you want but I have none myself, just ***** of spearmen on each isle (number kept secret incase of spies). For defence I would say Spearmen.
1, quicker to build
2, cost less to build
3, higher defence
These I build in 100 lumps so upto 500 in the building queue. With MY guidelines mixed with admins you should be fine lol.

At the end of the day build what needs building. With warship size, build large always, small is only good for spying, keep about 10 in stock on each isle for wars. I build my large ones in bulks of 25 so usually about 125 in the building queue. Always try to have them building if you can.
Never build small merchant ships, they are worthless. Try to build at least 50 Large, they are good for plunders and trade.

Build archers for attack, and spearfighters for deffence, with a few spearfighters to send with attacks as aparantly it minimises losses!

The Stone Throwers cost 4680, the Spearmen cost 5520 and the Archers cost 5940.
When defending: 78 Stone Throwers will win 42.8% vs 78 Stone Throwers, 17.8% vs 46 Spearmen and 27.8% vs 33 Archers
When defending: 46 Spearmen will win 76.7% vs 78 Stone Throwers, 44.8% vs 46 Spearmen and 64.2% vs 33 Archers
When defending : 33 Archers will win 62.7% vs 78 Stone Throwers, 28% vs 46 Spearmen and 43.6% vs 33 Archers
This shows how pants Stone Throwers are and how archers are too expensive and take to long to build for what they are.
