Fog masking maps for each nation... ~500 bytes per file, quite nice. You can check it with the index2.php link

It takes several png images from database, and has functions to check the condition of given coordinate. Terrain is common for all, as is resources, population, facilities, owners, but fog, is "per-nation"
Then you can loop through all the coords, and print a map, be it char, table, or even fancy image created from nice blocks.

I've been pulling the new site together... Converting stuff allready made to one common format to fit to the system. The Forum is operational at the new location too.

It gets the PNG, scans each pixel from top-left and converts it depending on colour, into a terrain type? So blue is sea, green forest etc etc. Is that how it works? Is the process reversible? Can I see the code please? ;D

Actually i dont get the colour, but the colours position in palette. Then i have index for those palette indexes, which decides what terrain it is.
And yes, you can edit the data and save it as new png. Actually, thats what i do if i want save it again to the database.

Very interesting! So you could use that to produce ASCII art then? That would be quite popular with some people I think.
