The NEW MORKIN (?)

I do beleive its more a domestic issue than warfare so I posted this thread here, related to discuss the future of this aliance.

Several major questions hover over my mind:
Will it make any sense to keep MORKIN alive when most of the "Forefathers" are going into retirement?
Should the name MORKIN be carried on by the ones that are left behind?
Will it not be a shadow of the real MORKIN, that conquered a glorious victory on Wintor´s Solstice?
Shouldn´t the suicide extent to the aliance as well?

Please place your views and opinions on this subject.

I'll be staying and post Jan 3 will be active again. Quite a bit of rebuilding to do with a few buildings at level 1 but I have 500+ LWs.

One idea could be a CORLETH (Son of Morkin) alliance for the continuation, as it won't be the same without the original group.

As i stated before... I want to leave but the thing is that whenever we fight the game gets a lot better ;D! The game does not take much time (I have so little) each day so I can keep my island running if some people wish to go on with MORKIN. In fact, as I have Internet access from home (at last) I can revive my isle and get my colonies back...!
....and I think MORKIN should be MMU only.

I am open to most ideas right now. I had imagined that very few wanted to continue, so that Morkin would die of natural causes, leaving the rest to try something new in this game, namely membership of another alliance. (Except for Marc, of course, but I don't know what he thinks of VI)

So a lesser Morkin could continue, or we could officially split up after New Year to try out other alliances, while of course keeping in contact in private.

If we split up I think we all could get into good alliances, simply by the Morkin fame.

One thing I am against is opening Morkin to non-MMUers.

I am along the lines of what andre says, ie IF I continue, I will just have my main isle (and maybe one colony to provide resources to it), but this will happen if and only if Morkin continues to exist in one way or another, otherwise I am out. Please DON'T let this affect your decision about entering other alliances, as even if Morkin continues to exist I am not sure I will continue playing.

I think we should stay as we are. Who cares about scores? Well, up to a point, but not overall. We have shown we can get into the top-50, and we are better than most other alliances with fighting. So what if we have few isles and members and a low alliance score, when we can kick Culo! with our fleets? Fewer targets to defend...

Yes, I'm with Oliver here. We can live a dormant llive with minimal efforts in the good old Morkin format although I like the Corleth son of Morkin idea of Frei as well. Or we could go dark side and create Doomdark or GreyFallon to reflect ourt more agressive "don't mess with us" reputation <lol>.

I must say it flatters my ego, as I'm sure it does yours, when a reknownd alliance asks you to join, but as I have had a special privilege to see VI from the inside and had offers to join other alliances as well I can say that if those reknowned alliances are anything like VI to go by (and I always thought highly of VI before I was actually inside it) then they are most likely not so wonderful as we thought they would be. I hear Wraith is cool, but only -I suppose- if you like that sort of thing they have to offer. I don't know what that is, but it must be an acquiered taste!

Now Raul wants those who continue to consider being asked by Firefox (I asked him which one...) and while I'm sure there's more sensibility and riopeness in there, it is also some sort of bribe along the linmes of "keep your friends close but your (potential) enemies even closer" and therefore more strategic ploy than honour.

So, no I would not want to be in VI myself. I also think Wolfpack would be too young for me. I can see myself in R|M but maybe seeing their messageboard would revolt me. I had that with VI a bit. So far only Dpyroaxis and Carpenoctum have my respect, the rest is utter morons and kiddies. But they provided Colm's account a wonderful safehaven and that's why I'm there with him.
