It seems all the lords troops must be slaughtered before a lord is killed. OTOH, lodrs without armies get killed even if there are numerous friendly troops present.
Perhaps the number of soldiers should only determine the chance of the lord getting killed, with all enemy / friendly soldiers being taken into account.
Or, even better, a kind of DDR mechanism be implemented, although I don't know how exactly it works. I suspect Lord's attributes have quite some influence.

A Lord should have a chance of being "one of the slain riders", all the time, and yes depending on the delta between the number of surrounding enemies and his own men. Would add a bit of phear to those incursions on enemy clusters...

And the surviving troops?
Can they sit there like a neutral garrison and be capturered or absorbed into the armies of other lords, or simply disappear?

Dice could roll, deciding if the regiment scatters or rallies to the winner's banner, with an increased chance for the latter in keeps and citadels... let's say 5% in open field, 10% at locations... But distributing riders and warriors evenly up to the men limit might have unwanted effects, and could prove hard to manage if new army types come to reality. Maybe having the fools run away after chopping their master's head is the best!

Both absolute and relative numbers shoud be taken into account: I think there should be a greater chance for a lord to get killed if it's a 10 on 10 fight then in 2500 versus 5000.
