I've done a preliminary compatibility test on Midnight/MU, bearing in mind the approaching public release. The basic conclusion is that any relatively modern browser with CSS support will do the job. Anything Mozilla based seems fine. So what doesn't work? None of the existing Amiga[1] browsers will work, as none have CSS support. Poor bas***ds! The default BeOS browser, NetPositive, is also a no-no. Same problem as above. The default browser in QNX Momentics 6.2.1, Voyager, also fails on CSS support. Both BeOS and QNX have Mozilla and Opera ports, so anyone primarily using those systems can still play M/MU. Mind you, I don't know of anyone who uses QNX as their primary OS. MacOS is something I can't test, but as they have Mozilla based browsers there should be no problem. Notes: [1] - This includes AmigaOS4, MorphOS and AROS, three current operating systems either derived from or directly inspired by the classic AmigaOS. None of them have any browsers currently capable of displaying M/MU.

I should imagine that the amigans will have a port of moz at some stage, seeing as it's such an active minority OS community (I did so love my A500/A1500. Sigh). We can add the following OS to the compatibility list: OS/2 v4 and eComstation (an OEM version of OS/2, much nicer). I've tested Mozilla 1.2 and 1.3 on that, and as 1.7RC1 and Firefox 0.8 are also available, that should continue to be OK. We know that Linux is ok as you and Queex use it extensively. Now we need OSX, BSD and SkyOS to report back in! Many thanks for the testing

Anyone know whether the RiscOS browser(s) have CSS support? They still seem to be in active development, but at 100 quid for a browser, it's not something one can test for a hobby. www.iyonix.com...not to mention the cost of a RiscOS system...
