As the subject says, what's your favourite bolthole or retreat in Midnight/MU?
I'm having a bit of trouble deciding on this one because I haven't had many games where I've used a citadel as a last retreat. If I was pushed for a nomination, I'd probably go for either Kor or Gorgrath.
What's yours?

I usually end up in Ithrorn or Kumar, not out of any preference, although Whispers is a good place to hide at a pinch. It just seems that most of my games are along the Eastern side of the Map and if I get pushed back in the North then it's a natural defensible position.
Valethor is a pretty good place to hold if you've sufficient refreshed riders to reinforce the outer keeps and fall back in stages to the Citadel.

As the subject says, what's your favourite bolthole or retreat in Midnight/MU? Dreams. The forest and the lack of nearby keeps or citadels makes appoaching it without tiring a good bit difficult, and you have plenty of ways to retreat if you have to, while you really are cut off and caught with some of the other citadels around. Counting against it is the lack of visibility (unless you cheat ), but enemy dragons are also limited in approaching it. Maybe it's because I play a Fey king, but Dreams is always the one place I hope to get my hands on. Another place I like is Kor, it very in-your-face, saying "Come and get me". Clearly visible when coming from the south, but also saying that you are ready to fight, unlike Ushgarak which seems more like a last-frightened-stand kind of place.

Xajorkith or Doomy's castle. To be honest I know most of you all think "ooh he's still there" etc and march up to the door only to be confronted by tens of lords who don't like you very much!

I like to hold the Citadel of Gorgrath and tend to use that as a power base. Good views E, S,W and mountains to the north to tire out enemy armis trying to sneak over.
Also Doom square with an escape route to Vorgath and ultimately Lights, though I have not had to run that far yet.

Funny thing, at DDR I had a tendency to fight at Thangrad, then Anvorthun, Firak, and finally at the Gate... where I'd use the Crown to bring the Fangrim Fey in.

Heh, In doomys I had a 'complete' strategy.... I think.... Rotheron - send to temple north from Varenorn, night there, then go straight north through anvorthun and into giants relm (using cup of dawn run near Lorangoron and Caromund to get to giants qiuck) Luxor - Send to Torinarg (or Toerag) then head north to imgord, then north to Anvorthun if Anv or Firak moved take these bases with Luxor. Tarathel - Send north along fey lords, use carorthorn to get imorthorn and imorthorn to get the rest of the fey, then head north east through dwarves and icelords. Then Group everyone at anvorthun until Shareth is dead then retreat to Varenorn and wait for everyone else to return. Works every time

Rorthron gets Torinarg, gets Careneon, Kahudrarg, Anvorthun if possible, Thortheon, some Giants.
Torinarg gets Anvortheon, Kahu gets varangrand, move E.
Luxor gets Imgorad Firak Thangrad Carormand Lorangrorn Thorthak Glortharg Kahudrak Varatrarg move E.
Tarithel get Imorthorn Carorthand Thormand move E to dwarves.Imorthorn get Morildrane Tororthane Imgormand move Lorangriel Obireon.Carorthand get Carorthane Tharand Berormorn.
Utter randomness after that.
