I don't really remember if it has been spoken about in beta testing time but i would like to share my experiences due to movement costs in current 0.1g version..
I concluded that movement costs in M/MU are based on two constantes 0,25h for straight moving (N,E,S,W) and 0,35h for diagonally moving (NE,SE,SW,NW) where h=hour which are multiplied with certain multiplier n who depends on terrain, race and army type.
Foul and Free have no bonus nor hendicape in all types of terrains. For them in plains multiplier n=4 for cavalry and n=5 for infantry, thus 4*0,25h=1h straight and 4*0,35h=1,4h diagonally for cavalry and 5*0,25h=1,25h straight and 5*0,35h=1,75h diagonally for infantry.
In forests or downs n=6 for cavalry and n=7 for infantry, so
1,5h straight and 2,1h diagonally for cavalry and 1,75h straight and 2,45h diagonally for infantry.
In mountains n=13 for cavalry and n=14 for infantry, so
3,25h straight and 4,55h diagonally for cavalry and 3,5h straight and 4,9h diagonally for infantry.
The same is with Fey with exception that they beheave in forests like in plains.
Dwarfs beheave in mountains like in plains but once more i pay attention to JY that realystically would be if they also have that bonus in downs. On the other hand only forests would be a type of terrain where dwarfs wouldn't have that bonus but their inability to mount a horse and their rarity compensate that.
Skulkrins beheave like infantry of foul or free.
For Dragons multiplier n=1 in all type of terrains except forests.
Ha, it seems this forests are of sequoia or eucalyptus and dragons couldn't manage to mount above 150m. ;D On the other hand this LOM mountains are really low.
So they spend 0,25h straight and 0,35h diagonally except in forests where they beheave like wises. In forests n=3 and they spend 0,75h straight and 1,05h diagonally.
For Wises in plains and forests n=3 and they spend 0,75h straight and 1,05h diagonally. In mountains and downs they beheave like foul or free cavalry.
Targs are really a mistery. They don't fit in this 0,25h/0,35h shema. They spend a little more time than Wises. I think their cavalry spend 0,78h straight and 1,08h diagonally in plains with no objects. In other types of terrains they beheave like foul or free cavalry. And in plains with objects like lith, keep, ruin etc. they spend as usual cavalry. Their infantry also beheave like an ordinary infantry in all kind of terrains.
JY, correct me if i have mistaken somewhere..
