Err, does this mean that an army that has been attacked doesn't fight back, but just stand and take the casualties?
Shouldn't it be that the only battles where YOUR armies are involved are fought, but all participating armies in those battles actually fight?

No, sorry for confusion - if your lord is attacked, he will fight back. But if there are conflicts that do not involve you - eg you are player 1 and players 2 and 3 are fighting - then those conflicts will not result in a battle event that night.
It stops the scenario where you move your lord, get attacked by the next player, and the next day your lord is dead because up to 3 rounds of battle have taken place.
But as I said, if people prefer the old way, it's a one line change. I did however make the change as a result of a thread in either bugs or suggestions from way back that had never been actioned.
