A friend of mine emailed me this morning. I told him about M/MU and he is looking forward to the release. He also told me that M/MU is being discussed over on the Laser Squad Nemesis forums! I think you ought to prepare to be surprised at the level of take-up when you go 'live' JY

I've posted a brief excerpt from the manual over there, hope that's OK? If not let me know and I'll edit it out.
The offer of my webspace is still open for when you need it. And from the sound of it you will. ;D

No problem. Is laser squad that game where you take a team through missions, with a view from above? Has things like line of site and enemies firing as you pass? Or completely different game? never played it - was it a Speccy game.

No problem. Is laser squad that game where you take a team through missions, with a view from above? Has things like line of site and enemies firing as you pass? Yes, that was the original IIRC, but I think it was an AtariST game? Laser Squad Nemesis (LSN) is by the Gollop Brothers of that fame. They also did the UFO: Enemy Unknown series which were similar but with an isometric view and for the PC. LSN is a development of those kind of games but turn based and played on smallish tactical maps between two human opponents. Turns are passed on by Email to a server which processes both turns simultaneously. They charge a subscription fee to play, although I believe there is a boxed version out; but I don't know if that is the same or played vs an AI. There are currently four races, Human Space Marines, Mechanoid Machina, Starship Troopers style Spawn and alien Greys. Each has 7 different unit types and a base, each with different weapons and movement rates, stamina, ranges etc. It's very good, and I was reasonable at it whilst they only had the first two races. But after the addition of the others I never really kept up with the strategies required to play each one verses any of the other three opponent types. As a result I tended to get beaten fairly regularly. Take a look here www.lasersquadnemesis.com/ for a better introduction than mine. ;D
