In some of my games I have been performing experiments.
I have tried seeking at different locations and keeping a record of what I find, to see what terrain yields what thing.
I have been trying to recruit werewolf!
And I have been investigating the properties of garrisons.
I have two questions:
1: I dont suppose I am the first to do this. Does anybody have the results of what I am trying to accomplish? Preferably in table form?
2: Has anybody ever actually used the garrison function to an advantage? That is, significantly increased their troops through garrison increase?
I am always killed off so quickly I never get to utilise this feature. Has anybody else?
If not, perhaps it need to be set higher and would then become another factor in gameplay.
Two questions!

As to your first question, percents for finding things at sites (although no longer quite exact) are written somewhere in the archives of the old forum.
Currently, the only function of garrison button is to change enemy garrison of (0/0) into your own.

Citadels, keeps, villages, snowhalls give shelter.
Liths give cup of dawn, blood of courage, claws of night and thorns of dispair.
Lakes give waters of life, but if you drink contaminated water, it makes you ill.

Yes, but much lower percent of good effect, and a higher one for bad things to happen, so I usually don't use them.

I make an issue of having at least one citadel per race full of ravenous hordes, it's great for morale and for cowardice too ;D

2: Has anybody ever actually used the garrison function to an advantage? That is, significantly increased their troops through garrison increase? I am always killed off so quickly I never get to utilise this feature. Has anybody else? In my latest game against Ringthane, the very misnamed Blitzkrieg, I lost very many troops eliminating his annoying force of three lords, partly because I moved very tired troops under scared lords into the fray. In the end sheer weight of numbers won me the battle, but my armies were much depleted. Ringthane then just concentrates his superior forces in the other end of Midnight, and when he finally arrives my armies were nearly up to full strength again due to new soldiers from my citadels. But I think that game was an exception. But perhaps if we have a game where the opposing forces are so evenly matched that they hesitate to fight, citadels and their reinforcements may become a factor.
