Chris deleted my personal thread there on his forum. And in his UniMapGen thread he declares "Lets hope he does." as a reply on Jean-Yves' wish that I come back there.
What a hypocrite.
He may be a good programmer, but he's just a tiny, little man. I pity him.
So I guess I was right when I said he has some issues with domination. Maybe he was bullied as a kid? Authocratic father?
However, I won't be going there any more. So, Jean-Yves, if you're reading this, you can freely inform Chris that he can delete my profile from his forum, I won't mind.
Oh, and there is no purpose in running UniMapGen thread on Chris' forum, because I won't be reading it any more. Anything about UMG can be posted here, or sent to me by mail. I will be glad to answer.

Either way, and not placing blame anywhere, may I say that this sort of personality clash does nothing but damage to all of us in this community. I am saddened by what is happening.

As I without meaning to have had both Igor and Chris get mad at me (even if I had hoped both had gotten past that now ( ? ) ), I may not be the best person to ask this, but why has this happened? Some argument in a thread I didn't pay attention to? Honestly, this comes as a total surprise for me, and I have no clue what's it about. Somebody care to fill me in?

You have showed some bad sides of your personality, but that's who you are. I can understand that. I was pis.sed for a while, and calmed down. But that was a long time ago. As for reason for me leaving, let's just say that I've been living in a totalitarian regime long enough. That's why I can smell one from a great distance. And I don't want to be a part of one ever again. When things change, I'm ready to go back. For the moment, that's impossible, but I'm predicting that changes will come pretty soon. In the meantime, I intend to support M/MU as before. One new project is already in the making. More about it when it's done.

Honestly, this comes as a total surprise for me, and I have no clue what's it about. Somebody care to fill me in? I must say of my behalf that i feel pretty much just like Perun does. I don't like the atmosphere at the new forum a bit. And for the reasons, Perun couldn't have said it any better. I feel it's not a community anymore, it's a sandbox for Merlin. In one thread i tried to make my point (that oldies could chat also in here), output in that way that only those thinking the same would pay attention to it. Someone turned that into huge ego-fight and quest for mutually exclusive forum, that the other must be shut down completely. That is just a part of that control-attitude thing that sucks all over the place, in every matter.

It's a sad thing that Icemark consumed both the game and the forum.
Maybe it's a free quality server and maybe he contributes to the development and maintanance, but if more than one oldie feels there something so much wrong, maybe there is?

Well. I'm glad that such attitude didn't take root among core beta-test community members. Jean-Yves, Fernando, Robert, Bill, Mads, David and I are still here, so I think/hope that says something. Add Mislav, Chris (well, not him, he's gone), Andrea (she's also gone for a moment [she's been talking to Chris lately, so I'm not surprised ;D]), Daiabolical (David, right? Or Bill?) and Queex (another Bill, right?) and that's basically all of us. Matija plays "follow the leader". I understand him completely. ;D It's slovenian national sport. ;D ;D ;D Croatian lately also. ;D

...and maybe he contributes to the development and maintanance... What the hell has Chris contributed in development of MMU?!!? Hell, he wasn't even discussing much with the rest of us about additions/improvements/debugging of MMU!!! His Campain manager still doesn't work as it should, and he's not answering people or helping them. Of what maintenance we talking about? Making some graphics for his forum is all. Granted, they're nice, but that's all. Forum maintains itself automatically. And, as I said somewhere earlier, all good ideas for MMU were made by everyone else except Chris. All he did was take Jean-Yves and MMU hostage. 'Nuff said.

Well, FWIW I have to admit I don't entirely share this view.
I know Chris' views are often unilateral and changing his mind can be an impossible task, but IMHO I think we have each other's measure and we can get along despite very strong disagreements on various issues.
I voted for keeping both forums going in that poll, but I also see the point that having duplicate sections isn't constructive in most instances. Had J-Y maintained a separate testing environment on the old server while having the live environment on Icemark it would be different. Having said that it was unwise and unnecessary to have that poll. All it achieved is to cause fraction and division.
I think we all know why the game server moved to Icemark - and it had nothing to do with anyone wanting to take it over. It makes a huge amount of sense to try and integrate game and forum as much as possible, and in terms of performance Icemark is far superior to Proboards in my experience, particularly now that compression has been enabled.
It is sad that this is happening, and I don't absolve either side of blame completely - if blame is the right word. IMHO,a mountain has been made out of a molehill, and it shouldn't have happened.
I would also urge everyone involved to think long and hard about what they are doing. Legitimate and justified protest over a disagreement is one thing, vitriolic vendettas and character assassinations something else. Don't fall into the trap of embracing the latter.
As I've said, I choose no sides. I think the fact that there are sides is a very bad thing for everyone. Sometimes tit-for-tat responses only go amplify divisions and resentment.
Anyway, there you go - I've had my say and I'll leave it at that now.
Oh, and I grew up under a totalitarian regime too Igor, and in all honesty I don't see any evidence that would justify comparison in this case. I would like to know what happened to the contents of your posts on the other forum, and why your personal thread has disappeared, but until I hear an explanation I prefer not to jump to conclusions.

I swear to holyfuckinghell I'd beat your sad faces, all of you into a pulp if I could lay my paws on you now.
Most of you are displaying attitudes which are totally unworthy of people who spent the past 20 years cherishing a dormant flame for what was no more than a mere game, yet turned out to reveal the best sides of our personalities and an utterly indestructible sense of community. In short, you're being childish, impulsive, careless, and inconsistent. I remember many people criticising Mads for things he said and did. Is this any different - be it whatever Chris might have done or how Igor might have reacted? Is this a better, more coherent attitude than what made me get angry at Mads when he posted what looked like a racist comment for me? Was I any better then by reacting angrily? What am I saying?
Before more of us are dragged into this, I vertically plead to you Igor (at whom I am pissed for speaking like that of Matija, who did nothing to participate in this misery of a debate) and to you Chris (at whom I am pissed for not fixing things directly with Igor) to get your Fottuto! act together and swallow it like men.
And don't you even attempt to think of my remarks as mediating or water-on-coals. I spent a weekend Fottuto!, eating and sleeping. This schism just ruined my mood, and I blame all of you humans for it. So now humour me and clean this up, and let's please go back to being all and one wherever. I have reason to believe that both Igor and Chris are at this stage more than capable of providing for great days to come.
Aw, Chiavata!, look at what you've done. You made me want to stop posting.

True, he wasn't here at the early days when citadels voyaged across plains, and when he came, he wasn't pariculary active. I can't help ot but i feel like now that it's allmost ready he comes to peal the cream out of the top...

How can I NOT take it seriously? Two apparently valid members of our much costly preserved community are at each other's throats for meaningless reasons. You think I care who's right in the face of such waste of energy and aggression to the rest of us?
