But it was no luck. I saw a small enemy army disappearing into the woods, and I posted sentries. Didn't know it was the king, though.

It might take some edge off the game, but if it'd make you happy, it's one of the wishes I can grant with the least effort.

Ooooh, this is NOT a 12-citadels game. Why did I think so? I have been spreading armies out everywhere to just for one night achieve those 12 citadels and decide the game. I'm mincemeat in a pure regicide Ah, you mixed it with that one where Igor is also playing. I, too, was under the impression this was the 12 c game. But now that you mentioned it, I remembered.

Fernando, that was a very unfortunate place to end your move. Don't you know the citadels have Eyes? No escape for you this time, I'm afraid.

Spotted my army, did you? Unfortunately, I was unable to sneak any closer.

And here I was thinking that for once your spies weren't around. Pathetic, I agree.

There is a story behind Amelista, the crux of the first part of this game, in fact.
Both me and Fernando arrived at the Halls on the same 'evening'. That is to say, neither of us was able to recruit Amelista. But his forces were much more numerous, and much fresher. In normal circumstances I stood no chance whatsoever.
However, at the same time, Fernando's king got caught in a trap I set after noticing an unknown army skirting the edge of the Forest of Shadows.
It was now only a question whether I could catch and kill Ringhtane before all my meagre troops at the Halls got slaughtered.
I pulled it off, barely, but then I had to send an army north to deal with Fernando's lords that remained at the Halls, before I was able to recruit Amelista. My king was also in that party that is now rejoining my main force.
In a few days I shall advance on Marakith and we shall see if I've got enough to throw against a citadel.

Yes, that was also my estimate, but one never knows ...
