So where is Celebaglar hiding? I can see a lot of his henchmen and minions about, but where is the main suspect? To frightened to come out figthing? Good thing for Celebaglar that he can afford to pay a group of bullies to do his dirty work for him

Those are big words for someone who is only alive to say them because he chose to wait for me southeast of Marakith. Had you been one league west of there you would have met your adversary - and your doom - in the night past. The henchmen are only there to ensure you don't go anywhere. Trying to take back Marakith was brave, but futile.

So fell High King Natmus, slain by the rightful King's personal guard quickly and cleanly as did Ringthane the Impostor before him. Only now will Midnight know peace once more!

Trying to take back Marakith was brave, but futile. My entire existence in this game was rather futile, but there you go. I decided to head for Marakith before your lone lord attacked it, and when his friends showed up I really had nowhere to go... And in the next post Celebarbar wroteDai will be pleased to know you slew his slayer, Celebarbar. The entire play of you two was a trap to let me deplete my forces and make me easier to kill for the survivor of you two, right? Impossible! The people of Midnight will never accept your corrupt and incompetent rule, and will soon be in open revolt to create a true anarcho-syndicalistic society, free of petty tyrants and exploiters of the brave Midnightian People. You can enthrall some of the People all the time and you can enthrall all of the People some of the time, but you can't enthrall all of the People all of the time. And when you get your just desserts, the ghost of brave High King Natmus the Man-of-the-People shall dance of your grave.

Marakith was the key to you getting your small force between the bulk of my army and the small remaining cavalry detachment led by my king who had been hunting the Unbeliever in the northern lands. If you had managed to get between my army and my king, that could have caused one ot two hairy moments, so I sent Valethor ahead with his Foul cavalry to get control at Marakith, intending to collect my remaining cavalry units into one force, and leaving the infantry in another group, which would allow me to eventually trap your king somewhere. I did not expect Marakith to be so well defended, nor did I expect your armies to arrive as soon as they did, but since I never like to have armies working where the others can't support them, reinforcements for Valethor were never far away. Of course! We even hired a ju-ju doctor to persuade you to ask to take on Dai's forces yourself, rather than let my men do it. Midnightian? *cringe* I think you'll get the chance to do so sooner than you think. Much sooner.

It's erie how much alike we think. Beating you to Marakith and trapping your king was exactly my plan, but it would seem I was just a day or two late, even if I was faster than you anticipated. A few of my slower armies had slipped NW before the riders left, giving them full speed when I left, but I don't think you were fooled by my decoy army headed for Kumar, did you? I had a (very slim) hope your forces (or at least some of them) would follow the easily visible decoy at Kumar, while the fast rider armies heading for Marakith could have slipped out of visual range. It was worth a shot, even if it didn't work Actually the similarity in playing style is the main reason you haven't been challenged to a new one-on-one. Given the current gameplay we play pretty much in the same style and with the same tactics, so initial placement and recruitment would be the decive factor, and very little else.

The Kumar decoy didn't work for three reasons:
- I didn't even notice Dregrim until he got to the keep SW of Kumar.
- I had Kathryn nearby, as she had followed Athoril southwards, so she was able to check him out.
- I had made up my mind to follow my own plan until everyone was set and the two groups set. Even if your entire force had gone to Kumar, I would not have followed until my cavalry units were ready.
I also had people at quite a few towers, and there was little chance you'd ambush them there as they were too far away. Despite Doomy, Dreams and Amelista, I still got enough info to have a good idea about your general whereabouts.
Come to think of it, this was a strange game in the end. Not only were all kings killed by opposing kings, but I didn't lose a single lord, something I don't think I ever achieved before in a four-player game. I must admit that had it not been for the alliance this would probably not have happened.
As for the one-on-one, don't worry, I understand. The similarity in our styles and thinking makes most of the game predictable once recruitment is over.
