Merlin the Victor!!!!
Wayne, you only made one mistake during this campaign, and that was not keepng you King stocked up with soldiers.
When I first ambushed him south of Shadows, you managed to get you lords from north of shadows down to his aid very quickly... infact you were almost all there before I made the attack... From that moment on I was concerned, you had superior numbers to me...
I knew you also had those 5 lords east of shimeril. The rest of my lords were still up north amassing recruits. I decided I would bring them south later to clean up...
At any point during the attacks you could have given more free soldiers to Valen... but I watched his numbers drop... when you made a bid to meet up with your guys from shimmeril, I was concerned because I thought you would stock up then, but you didn't. On my penultimate turn you hadd just over 200 soldiers, by my last turn you had only 74!!! I just pushed Ithrorn into battle and he was a gonna...
If you'd given him Shimeril's armies... I probably wouldn't have beat you.

Your tactics were extremely well implemented I have to admit. To the victor the spoils and the glory.
I didn't know you could transfer between armies, I rather stupidly assumed you had to do it via a garrison - now I know at least - thanks for the advice, it's needed. Somewhat sadly this means I make Myndolous look like Ghenghis Khan when it comes to tactics in battle however.... ....and - yes - I think your chaps probably accidentally killed him though it serves him right for his "I'm too knackered to move despite being surrounded by 5000 men and am in imminent danger of being hideously mutilated by men with sharp pointy things" attitude to warfare.
Valen was heard to utter the words "Turbo Bugger" before expiring shamefacedly.
Good game though Chris.

It all seemed to turn on the false retreat at ogrim. I feigned heading north and that seemed to or coincided with flushing your King out. Where was he btw, with Luxor at Moon?
My dragon then picked him up heading around Shadows so I blocked Luxor and filtered off the army south that ambushed him at the bottom of shadows. The block was intented to not alert you to the fact I knew where your king was - had I just thrown everyone at him then I suspected you would have rumbled me.
FWIW: Your number of lords bothered me immensley. Especially as most of them were togther. If you had transfered soldiers around your lords, to get a smaller but meaner group, the game would have be very different.
