They gained control of the wickinger2 account recently, and have been merging it into a handful of DIGG accounts. They have been likewise doing the same with several internal accounts.

scoots and ajdub have been two of the largest benefactors: the former is an Admiral.

Possibly the only way we can exploit this is to have a policy of not respecting internal merges unless the owner of the account being merged will be sharing ownership of the other account. Otherwise the account being merged would be treated as if it had become ownerless.

Whether this would slow the buying and merging of accounts, (as final ownership would not be guaranteed) who knows, but it could make the game more interesting. The alternative is to play the same game...


Maybe it's just time to build a better IK, one that has a real and closed economy and checks against all these exploits.

Where are the Orcs when you need them? Aren't they all about causing chaos and not letting this server stagnate like .uk did? Someone needs to start something big, before all these accounts get merged.

Well, with Rhino buying all of the powerful accounts, it's going to come to a front at some point, regardless of how he decides to use it.

The question is, do we do something pre-emptively, or do we sit and let him merge? How long does he have to merge an account like EC's? Do we call it a multi if he's playing both? etc.

Travian got quite strict and set limits on how much you could send to another player and how long they could host your defenders. Nothing is completely cheat proof, but you could put triggers in place that flag potential cheating. Even something as simple as tracking which players owe other players.

Yes, but you know how closely we're viewed with DIGG. Regardless of what stance we would take on the whole thing. There is little doubt we would also be targeted. I've got no problem with that, I'm just wondering if we should do something sooner rather than later.

Frei, apparently Rhino's brother John Hannan (Rhino says he's Mike) bought Pinky_and_brain for a mere 75 pounds.

He admitted Rhino and he (perhaps they are playing together on all those accounts) were merging them.

Alright, I know this is going to sound a bit abrupt, but someone (preferably an admin) should post an official announcement on the official forums saying that all of this bullshit is not tolerated!! (Ok, i understand if you want to sell your account for other personal real life reasons). But...this is ridiculous, if we don't do something about it now, we are going to have ourselves playing another ik.co.uk server...

I would be happy to help organize a new operation because I have too much fun playing this game and I don't want it to die....If the alliance does nothing, I'd be happy to go on my own random adventure even if it means I'd get killed lol. Grrrr!!!

I think any server scale war is going to come down to two groups. Where Pantheon will stand, and where the 4 alliance group of E||M, PAIN, Empire, and D|D will fall. While the alliances individually may not strike much fear, if both groups decided to stand with EV, FOIMP, Phoenix against us and Digg, it'd be cause for worry. I think both of those two groups would be quick to run to whichever side seemed like the winner at the start, similar to jumping on the Digg/Morkin bandwagon against E|S (although that fight was never really in question).

I think trying to rally the Orcs into fighting as well would be a good idea, in the name of choas.
