I posted this in the alliance forum, but I'll also post it in here.

So there's an island right next to me and the guy isn't in an alliance and has had the same score for a while so I messaged him and asked if he was still active. I sent the message yesterday and he never responded to me so I sent a spy ship that failed.

He then decided to send 3 attacks to 2 of my isles. He flattened my gold mine on one of my isles and pretty much took out the army on both of them.

My question is, should I attack him and take a few of his isles or what? Would anyone help me attack him if he has a considerably larger army than I have?

Just need to know what the next step is. Though I know it was kind of my fault, he also has to take some responsibility for not responding to me in 24 hours.

Those are odd numbers of LW's to be sending. I'll bet he emptied everything from his islands into you.
Probably should get a diplomat involved. I think he over reacted to your spy by a good measure and will be feeling the hurt of it in just a little bit.
Most likely he just ended his game of inselkampf.

I consider spies as an attack but he over stepped with his response.
You should have colo'd him while his fleets were out. Your 2 largest islands are about 15 minutes away by colo from his highest score island. I would say that you lost a golden oppurtunity here. Too late now, though, Eproxy could probably steer this to a good ending for you.

The problem was that I was away at work. And yes, I did check to see if he had read the message, and it was still unread at the time.

I'm kind of tempted to just attack him and see what he's got. He didn't attack my main at all and I think he took a decent chunk of his army with his attacks on me. I say this because when he attacked me the first time he had quite a bit of an army, but on his attack on my smaller army he had considerably less. And since the attacks were only 30 min. apart and given the distance from his island to mine he probably sent around the same time.

So if that's all correct, I'm thinking he has about 1k spears, 700 or so archers, and the 30 cats he attacked with. Not sure about his other islands though.

Spy all his islands, try to work this out amicably with compensation for your losses, but if all fails we'll back you up militarily if needs be.

Its common place to wait at least 3-4 days for them to reply or read the message before spying them, but he shouldnt have attacked. Im sure whoever is near you will happily back you up

The spy was early but usually the most that illicits is a very angry message and some threats. As for AeroS comment thats pretty much the same as one I made on the internal board; thats most likely all the guy has. I doubt the isles have more than 3k spears on each, probably less on the sub 300 LWS isles.

Ok, so what I've done so far was messaged our diplomat, neomorphic, about the issue and am awaiting a response. I'm not sure if I want to spy all his islands right now, but will definitely consider taking an island or two after this is all settled.

Spying his isle's is all about escalating the conflict and showing him you mean business. He attacked you, now you're going to probe out what he has. With any luck, some of them will fail and he'll know what you're doing.
